Navigate treacherous terrain, brave extreme wilderness conditions, and work together in total silence in the latest standalone expedition of the award-winning cooperative trick-taking franchise.
The Crew: Journey to the Ends of the Earth (published by KOSMOS) takes the critically acclaimed cooperative trick-taking system of The Crew: Mission Deep Sea and The Crew: The Quest for Planet Nine on a perilous voyage across uncharted continents and polar extremes. Moving away from competitive trump games or sprawling map boards, this title relies on pure card play, limited communication, hand management, and tactical puzzle solving. The primary gameplay objective centers on expedition survival: players work together as a specialized exploration team to complete a campaign of escalating missions by ensuring specific players win designated tricks, card values, or suit combinations without ever speaking about their hands.
The primary mechanical hurdle stems from strictly restricted communication and variable mission constraints. On each hand, players are dealt a suite of numbered cards and a small pool of high-value wild/trump cards. Before playing, the team drafts public mission task cards—ranging from "Player A must take the final trick" to "No green cards may be captured in the first three rounds." Players may only give one radio or signal token per hand to indicate whether a single chosen card is their highest, lowest, or only card of that suit. Designed for 2 to 5 players aged 10 and up, individual missions unfold in a brisk 15 to 20 minutes, stringing together into a multi-scenario campaign logbook. To survive the journey and map the ends of the Earth, players must read table cues, anticipate teammate strategies, and manage trick tempo with surgical precision.
