Moving away from standard 52-card Anglo-American decks or complex modern trick-takers, this edition utilizes the traditional 40-card Italian deck structure divided into four historic suits: Denari (Coins), Coppe (Cups), Spade (Swords), and Bastoni (Clubs). The primary gameplay objective centers on tactical card capture: players take turns playing a single card from their hand to "fish" for cards on the table by matching single card values or combining multiple cards that sum up to their played card’s number—aiming to amass cards, valuable coins, and sweep the table clean to reach 11 points first.

The primary mechanical hurdle stems from balancing immediate point captures against leaving lucrative combinations open for your opponents. The deck's face cards represent specific values (Fante / Jack = 8, Cavallo / Knight = 9, and Re / King = 10), and strict matching hierarchy dictates that if a played card matches both a single card and a combination of cards on the board, the player must capture the single card. Scoring rewards specific milestones at the end of each round: taking the most cards (Carte), capturing the most coins (Denari), securing the coveted Seven of Coins (Settebello), earning the best prime score (Primiera), and scoring bonus points for each literal Scopa (clearing every card off the table in a single capture). Designed for 2 to 4 players (or two fixed partnerships) aged 8 and up, a complete match plays out over a brisk 20 to 30 minutes. To win, you must track what cards have left the table, bait rivals into clearing paths for you, and deliver devastating sweeps when the table is full.
