Power Hungry Pets (published by Exploding Kittens) brings the legendary, streamlined deduction mechanics of Seiji Kanai’s Love Letter into the chaotic, humor-filled universe of Exploding Kittens. Moving away from complex card drafting or multi-card hand management, this micro-game is designed for people who want quick tactical depth without rules bloat. The primary gameplay objective centers on round elimination and card hierarchy: players start each round holding just a single card, draw a second card on their turn, and choose which one to play for its disruptive ability and which to secretly keep in hand.

The primary mechanical hurdle stems from deducing what cards your opponents are holding while protecting your own high-value cards from targeted attacks. Cards are numbered 0 to 10—with lower-numbered cards appearing in higher quantities and packing aggressive player-elimination or card-stealing powers, while higher-numbered cards (like the King Cat at value 10) carry minimal abilities but win showdowns. When the draw pile runs out or all other players are knocked out, the surviving player with the highest card value wins the round and earns a victory token. Designed for 2 to 6 players aged 7 and up, each lightning-fast round takes only a few minutes, with a full multi-round match wrapping up in about 15 minutes. To claim ultimate pet dominance, you must read table bluffs, track played card values, and make the right single decision each turn.
