Say a word linked to the previous one, navigate an escalating minefield of banned letters, and avoid taking the card pile in a fast-paced, fiesta-themed word association party game.
Olé Guacamole: The Happy Hour Game! (published by Le Scorpion Masqué and distributed in North American retail channels by partners including Outset Media / OSM) turns standard word association on its head by testing which letters you cannot use. Housed in a portable avocado-style package, the game eliminates down-time and heavy rules in favor of rapid verbal sparring, table banter, and quick linguistic agility. The primary gameplay objective centers on negative scoring avoidance: players take turns saying a word conceptually linked to the previous player's word without using any of the banned letters visible face-up on the table, trying to avoid failing a clue and getting stuck collecting penalty cards.
The primary mechanical hurdle stems from the compounding difficulty of an expanding letter constraint row. At the start of their turn, the active player reveals a card from the deck and adds it to the face-up row on the table. If it shows a letter, the player has approximately 12 seconds to call out a word that is both clearly related to the preceding word and completely free of all visible letters across the entire displayed row. For example, if the previous word was "Mexico" and the table displays V, T, O, and D, you must quickly find an associated word without uttering any of those four letters. Special action cards mixed into the deck spice up the rhythm—reversing turn order, skipping players, or forcing someone to provide two valid words back-to-back. If a player repeats a letter, takes too long, or fails to make a plausible connection, they must scoop up the entire face-up card pool as penalty points. Once the deck runs out, the player who accumulated the fewest penalty cards wins the game. Designed for 2 to 8 players aged 10 and up, a complete fiesta plays out in an energetic 15 minutes. To take home the win, you must think fast under pressure, dodge forbidden vowels and consonants, and keep the associations rolling.
