Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for a Magic the Gathering x The Hobbit Prerelease!

On Saturday, August 8th at 12 PM, compete in a 2 Headed Giant Prerelease for the newest Magic the Gathering set: The Hobbit! Each team member opens a prerelease kit, builds a minimum 40 card deck from the contents within, and plays in a 3 round Swiss style tournament! Players have 50 minutes to build their decks. Rounds are 50 minutes, best of 1, and each win awards both teammates with an additional pack of The Hobbit!

Entry is $90 and covers the cost of both players. Players are heavily encouraged to have a Wizards of the Coast account for registration. Tickets are available for purchase here on Eventforge!

The Hobbit sees us return to the world of J.R.R. Tolkien, and introduces new mechanics! Storied is a new mechanic that grants permanent benefits to players if they meet specific requirements. Your story endures, even if that which granted you the story is removed from the battlefield! Recruit allows you to draw and discard cards, making tokens or gaining other benefits based on the card you decide to discard. Sharpen your weapons with the new Hone mechanic, allowing you to get the most out of your equipment. And finally, welcome the return of the Adventure and Amass mechanics, seen in previous sets such as Wilds of Eldraine and the previous The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth™.
