LEGO Technic: White Seaplane

Skim across open waters and take to the skies with a compact demonstration of aerodynamic engineering and functional gearing.

LEGO Technic: White Seaplane 30736 translates real-world amphibious aviation into an accessible, mechanics-driven micro-build. Celebrating the ingenuity of dual-environment flight, this set introduces builders to the foundational principles of gear-driven movement and structural design. The primary build objective centers on constructing an agile twin-propeller floatplane: builders assemble the central white fuselage, broad fixed wings, oversized pontoon landing floats, and an integrated gear-mesh system that powers both front propellers in unison.

The primary mechanical appeal stems from delivering working kinematic movement within a pocket-sized footprint. By turning a top-mounted gear wheel on the fuselage, builders drive connected axles and bevel gears running through the wing assembly to spin both propellers simultaneously. Dual underbody pontoon skids provide a stable, flat base for water-landing simulations, making the aircraft as ready for hands-on desk display as it is for swooshing through the air. Designed for builders aged 7 and up, the build offers an engaging 10- to 20-minute introduction to gear ratios and mechanical linkages. To launch the flight, builders connect all 82 elements to bring a fully functional floatplane to life.
