Stroll through Amsterdam's vibrant tulip festival, gift colorful blooms to your fellow flower lovers, and subtly manipulate the market values to ensure your personal arrangements score big.
Gift of Tulips (designed by Gavin Birnbaum and published by Breaking Games) is a charming, interactive card game that transforms botanical collecting into a light tactical puzzle. Inspired by the famous Amsterdam tulip festival, players step into the shoes of enthusiastic flower enthusiasts eager to curate the most brilliant bouquets. The primary gameplay objective centers on set collection, tactical gifting, and market control: players draw and place colorful tulip cards either into their personal display, onto the public festival market, or as gifts directly into other players' bouquets, aiming to maximize points based on final market valuations.
The primary mechanical hurdle stems from balancing your own bouquet composition against the fluctuating value of the public festival market. On your turn, you draw two cards of different suits, placing one face-up into your own personal collection (or gifting it to an opponent) and the other face-down into the secret festival pile. The cards contributed to the public festival dictate which tulip colors finish with the highest point values at the end of the game. If you invest too heavily in a color that lags behind, or fail to control majorities in the top three scoring suits, your bouquets will fall short. Designed for 2 to 4 players aged 8 and up, a delightful festival stroll plays out in a quick 20 to 30 minutes. To claim the florist's crown, you must master the art of strategic gifting, read the shifting market, and grow the most valuable collection of blooms.
