Manage a bustling jungle fruit market, fulfill wholesale orders for the angry gorilla boss, and ring the brass bell the exact moment stock runs out.
Durian (designed by Masato Uesugi and published by Oink Games) is a fast-paced, highly interactive party game centered around cooperative estimation and sudden panic. Players take on the roles of animal store clerks trying to supply enough fruit (like bananas, mangos, and the titular durian) to satisfy the boss—the Angry Gorilla. The primary gameplay objective centers on collective deduction and risk management: players secretly view parts of each other's hands, guess total fruit counts across the entire store, and shout out order claims before anyone else.
The primary mechanical highlight is its tactile brass handbell, which players must slam down the second they realize too many orders have been placed and the gorilla's stock has run dry. Designed for 2 to 7 players aged 7 and up, lighthearted rounds play out in about 15 to 20 minutes. To avoid the boss's wrath and win the game, you must read your opponents' bluffs, count fruit accurately, and have lightning-fast bell-ringing reflexes.
