The primary gameplay objective centers on solving the case of the stolen museum MacGuffin: players search illustrated room cards to spot hidden symbols, dial them into a tactile mechanical "Codex," earn color-coded clue tiles, and cross-reference physical traits to eliminate innocent suspects until only the true culprit remains.

The primary mechanical hurdle stems from high-speed visual pattern recognition under extreme time limits. One player manages the mechanical Codex while others scan detailed room illustrations to call out matching geometric symbols hidden in the background artwork. Entering the correct sequence opens a clue card that reveals whether the culprit possesses a specific attribute—such as wearing a hat, carrying a cane, having fur, or wearing glasses. Players must simultaneously filter through a line-up of quirky animal suspects, rapidly tossing out those who don't match the evidence, all while the 5-minute timer ticks down. Designed for 1 to 4 (or up to 6) players aged 8 and up, each case wraps up in exactly 5 intense minutes, with multiple cases chained together for escalating difficulty.
