Pokémon’s Mega Evolution line continues with Phantasmal Flames! On November 5th at 5 PM we will be hosting our second Prerelease for Phantasmal Flames. Crack open a Build & Battle kit and battle it out in a 3 round Swiss style Tournament! Participants receive 3 packs at the end of the event just for participating! Our entry is $40.
Each Build & Battle Box includes four Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames booster packs and a 40-card ready-to-play deck featuring key cards from current and prior sets, as well as one of four unique foil promo cards. Depending on which promo card you get, you could be playing with the infernally slashing Ceruledge, the limit-breaking Zacian, the sandy flapping Flygon, and the tricky Toxtricity!
A prerelease is a type of event that gives players the chance to get product early. In the case of Pokémon, people can participate in events before the set comes out. Each person receives a Build & Battle kit, which consists of a random 40 card deck and 4 packs of the set. Then they battle it out in 3 rounds of a Swiss style Tournament and receive extra packs at the end for participating! Players get to keep all of the cards that they get from prereleases.
The Prerelease format allows players to compete using a 40-card deck with four Prize cards set aside at the start of play. This is different from the usual 60-card deck with six Prize cards. Due to the limited card pool and the variance of cards that can be acquired in a Build & Battle Box, Prerelease events are also a great opportunity to flex your creative deck-building muscles.
Phantasmal Flames releases officially on November 14th.
