April Pokémon League Challenge at Gnome Games Appleton East – $5/$10

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our April Pokémon TCG League Challenge!

On Saturday, April 24th at 12 PM, battle in a competitive Pokémon tournament! Through attendance-based rounds, find out who plays their deck the best! Rounds are 30 minutes, best of one. Each match won awards you with Championship Points and Prize Packs, so the better you do, the more likely you are to get an invitation to the Pokémon World Championships! Additionally each round, a Prize Pack goes out to a random player!

Entry for Juniors and Seniors is $5, and entry for Masters is $10. Players must have a Pokémon ID to enter into the tournament. Don’t have one? We can help you sign up! We have sheets available in-store, and the rest of the registration process can be done at home.

This tournament requires a deck list. We provide them if you don’t have one, but come in a bit earlier to allow time to fill it out!

What is a Pokémon League Challenge?

Pokémon League Challenges are competitive level tournaments at the Local Store level. These events are entry-level competitions, great for competitors of all experience levels! League Challenges specifically grant Championship Points toward earning an invitation to the Pokémon World Championships. League Challenge events are typically held once per month at select Pokémon League locations. These events use the Standard format, and require decks to be Tournament legal.

At higher levels are Pokémon League Cups. Typically held quarterly, League Cup event competitors can expect a step up, with tougher competitors vying for greater rewards. These also offer greater rewards, including more Championship Points and a Championship Playmat!

Every Purchase packs in increments of five to receive a Field Center Card qualify for a drawing to win exclusive prizes, including a Game Mat and a Secret Rare Card! More details to come!

On Sunday, May 3rd, compete in an exclusive tournament! Purchase five packs of Blazing Dominion as entry and compete in a tournament to win a set of the exclusive Game Mat and Secret Rare Card! Two additional Game Mats and Secret Rare cards are given out randomly after the completion of the tournament. Rounds are based on attendance, with 5 rounds being the highest amount possible. Rounds are 50 minutes, best of 3, and each win awards players with an OTS pack!

Players must have a Konami ID to participate in both the tournament and the giveaway. Giveaways for playmats and promo cards are separate from the tournament. Players cannot win more than one promotional card and one promotional playmat throughout the duration of the weekend.

What is Yu-Gi-Oh?

In Yu-Gi-Oh!, two players Duel each other using a variety of Monster, Spell, and Trap Cards to defeat their opponent’s monsters and be the first to drop the other’s Life Points to 0. Players draw cards from their respective decks and take turns playing cards onto “the field”. With Standard format rotating soon, a reminder:
For in-person Play!

Cards with the “G” regulation mark will no longer be legal for play in the 2026 Standard format. Cards with “H,” “I,” and “J” regulation marks will be legal to use (as will any future regulation marks that may be released). A card’s legality status is not based on which expansion it’s from. Even if a card is from a recently released expansion, players will need to refer to the regulation mark on the bottom of the card to see whether that card is legal for play. New cards still must follow the appropriate waiting period to become tournament legal, which is typically two weeks after their release.

Aggressive Negotiations is led by Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala.
This deck is all about rushing into the fray with lots of units, protecting your forces from harm as they dish out an unrelenting assault against your opponents.

Master and Apprentice is led by Count Dooku and Asajj Ventress.
The leaders of Master and Apprentice take a more subtle and elegant approach to victory, manipulating your opponents while steadily building up strength for a powerful late game.

Against the Odds is led by Rex and Ahsoka Tano.
These leaders are all about adapting on the fly, relying on event cards to get them out of tight spots and snatch victory in ways no one could predict, not even themselves.

Blood Brothers is led by Maul and Savage Opress.
In this deck, overwhelming offense is the name of the game.

Twin Suns Overview

A constructed format utilizing the game’s multiplayer rules, Twin Suns is a fun alternative way to play Star Wars: Unlimited with a unique approach to deckbuilding. Take on multiple opponents in a free-for-all and see if you can emerge victorious!

To play in the Twin Suns format, you must build your deck ahead of time, adhering to the following rules:

Your deck must include exactly two leaders. These leaders must share either the Heroism (white) or Villainy (black) aspect. You will start the game with both leaders in play, and you’ll be able to use both of their abilities throughout the game.

Your deck must include exactly one base.

Your deck must include a minimum 80-card* draw deck. You cannot have more than one copy of any card in your deck.

Typically, the winner of a Twin Suns match is determined by best-of-one game. Each game should take an average of 45 to 80 minutes to complete, depending on the player count.
