Digimon Welcome Tamers Event at Gnome Games Appleton East – $30

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Digimon Welcome Tamers Event!

On Sunday, May 24th at 1 PM, compete in a deck tournament featuring the new Digimon Starter Decks! These new starter decks are Digimon Beatbreak [ST-23] and Digimon Data Squad [ST-24], featuring aggressive Beatbreak styles, the addition of “DUAL” cards, the Data Squad, and more! Through 3 rounds of a Swiss style tournament, figure out who plays these new decks the best! Rounds are 50 minutes, best of 3. At the end of the event, all participants receive a Welcome Tamers Pack Vol.2 and a Time Stranger Promo Pack! Each round won awards players with a pack of Dual Revolution [BT-24]!

What is Digimon?

The Digimon Card Game is a competitive trading card game. Each player has a companion Digimon in the battle area to attack the opponent. Your Digimon evolves, gets stronger, and gains new power! You win by beating your opponent’s security (reducing your opponent’s Security Area cards to zero) and delivering a knockout blow!

To play the Digimon Card Game, you need a deck of cards. For your first time, we recommend a pre-built Starter Deck! You can strengthen your Digimon with Booster Packs to win battles! For more questions about Digimon, check out their Tutorials and “About Us” page!

Union Arena Sakamoto Days Release Event at Gnome Games Appleton East – $30

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Union Arena Sakamoto Days Release Event!

On Saturday, May 23rd, compete in a release event for Union Arena’s newest set, Sakamoto Days! Players open up 5 packs and use them in a deck to compete in a Swiss style tournament! Each round won awards players with an additional pack of Sakamoto Days. Rounds are 35 minutes, best of one. Participants all receive a Sakamoto Days Action Point promotional card, while the winner receives a Winner foil stamped version!

Entry is $30. Players must register ahead of time on Bandai TCG+. Our event is here!

What do I need to know for Deckbuilding?

Because of the nature of sealed events, decks can contain more than four cards with the same card number. It can also contain more than four of each of the Special, Color, and Final trigger types. 5 booster packs contribute to creating as close to a 60 card deck as possible. A deck needs 3 Action Point cards, Raids can be performed using cards with two different colors, and five Special triggers can be in a deck. Bring your own sleeves from home or purchase some before the event!

What is Union Arena?

UNION ARENA is a “Common Rules Trading Card Game”, which means players only need to learn 1 set of rules to play this card game using characters from series they love. In UNION ARENA you can find many popular characters from various series on the cards! Make a deck with characters from your favorite series and enjoy battles that even cross series! Summer is here, and what else could that mean but fun! It’s time for a Pokémon Mid-Summer Celebration friendly Expanded format tournament!

On Sunday, May 17th at 1 PM, take part in a release tournament for the newest Digimon set, Dual Revolution! Open up 6 booster packs, build a 40-card deck and a 0-5 card Digi-Egg deck, then compete in a tournament for additional Dual Revolution packs and exclusive event promos! Rounds are 50 minutes, best of 3. Each participant receives a Dual Revolution Release Event Pack and a ShineGreymon, and the Winner receives a Holographic + Textured foil ShineGreymon!

Pokémon TCG League Cup at Gnome Games Appleton East – $5/$10/$15

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for a Pokémon TCG League Cup!

On Saturday, May 16th at 11 AM, compete in one of our League Cups! Through attendance-based rounds, find out who has the best deck and who plays it the best! Players are paired based on their age division, but are grouped together if there are not enough players in any one age division. The winner in each age division receives an exclusive Champion playmat!

Rounds are 30 minutes, best of one. Each round won awards players with a Prize Pack! Entry for each age division is:

Juniors: $5

Seniors: $10

Masters: $15

What do I need to participate?

Players must have a Pokémon Trainer Club ID to register for the event, and a deck list to participate. We provide sheets for people to fill out. Please show up a bit early to allow time to fill them out, or come in with a complete form. Cards must be part of the Pokémon Standard Format.

What are Pokémon League Challenges and Cups?

A League Challenge is a small entry-level event occurring monthly by eligible Play! Pokémon Stores. In Pokémon League Challenge tournaments, competitors can earn Championship Points (CP) and work toward earning an invitation to the World Championships! These events are designed to be a competitor’s first experience of formal tournament competition before moving up to League Cups, Regional Championships, and beyond.

Gundam Card Game Newtype Challenge 2026 Mission 3 at Gnome Games Appleton East – $15

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Gundam Card Game Newtype Challenge 2026 Mission 3!

On Friday, May 15th at 5 PM, compete in an exclusive tournament for limited promos! Find out who has the best deck and plays it the best, and earn rewards! Rounds are based on attendance, with 5 rounds being the highest possible. There is no Top Cut. Each round is 30 minutes, best of one. Each round won awards players with a Gundam Card Game pack! Participants all receive a ST05-015 Isaribi promotional card, Top 4 receive a GD02-058 Ryusei-Go (Graze Custom II) promotional card, and the grand winner receives an exclusive GD03-050 Gundam Barbatos Lupus promotional card!

Entry is $15. Players must register ahead of time on Bandai TCG+. Our Newtype Challenge is here!

What is required for this event?

Players must have a tournament legal deck. These consist of a total of 50 cards, made up of Unit cards, Command cards, Pilot Cards, and Base cards that have up to two unique card colors. A deck cannot contain more than 4 cards with the same card number.

A resource deck requires 10 resource cards. Any tokens required for the registered deck should also be present.

What are Newtype Challenges?

Newtype Challenges are a competitive level event for the Gundam Card Game. These are local tournaments for intermediate to advanced level players looking to test their skills, held at select locations only! A step above regular weekly tournaments, players get exclusive prizing for participation, as well as exclusive top cut prizing based on performance. Battle and see if you have what it takes to be the top Gundam Card Game player!

Magic the Gathering: Secrets of Strixhaven Store Championship at Gnome Games Appleton East – $20

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Magic the Gathering: Secrets of Strixhaven Store Championship!

On Sunday, May 10th at 12 PM, compete in an exclusive Secrets of Strixhaven Store Championship! Occurring only once per set, Store Championships are a great way to up your competitive Standard format game by playing against others for exclusive promotional cards. Rounds are based on attendance, with 5 rounds being the most rounds possible. There is no Top Cut. Rounds are 50 minutes, best of 2. Participants receive an Unearth promotional card. The top 8 players receive a Psychic Frog promotional card, and the Winner receives an exclusive full art Abhorrent Oculus promotional card!

Entry is $20.

Players must have a standard legal deck. As a reminder, the Wizards of the Coast website provides a list of all currently legal sets in Standard. Players must have a Wizards account to register for the event. To register ahead of time, use the following code on the Companion App: EZM4QQD

Players can brush up on their skills at our Standard Showdown tournaments, every Sunday at 1 PM!

What is Standard Showdown?

“Standard” refers to a format in Magic the Gathering where decks consist of 60 cards. Decks can have no more than 4 copies of any given card (excluding Basic lands). Our Magic Standard Showdown event is a constructed tournament where players compete in 1 on 1 matches for packs and exclusive promotional cards. These change with every set! This is a more competitive event, so decks are required to be standard legal according to Wizard of the Coast’s legality rulings.

Lorcana Wilds Unknown Sealed Prerelease at Gnome Games Appleton East – $50

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Lorcana Wilds Unknown Sealed Prerelease!

On Saturday, May 9th at 2 PM, compete in a sealed style tournament for the newest Lorcana set, Wilds Unknown! Players open up 6 packs, have 30 minutes to build a deck, and play in a 3 round Swiss style tournament! Each round won awards players with an additional pack of Wilds Unknown! Rounds are 50 minutes, best of 3.

Wilds Unknown features a new way to play Sealed tournaments with Prerelease Kits! Each kit contains 6 booster packs, 1 of 6 special “Traveler” promo cards, 4 damage counter dice, a set-themed postcard, and a cardboard deck box. Travelers include Ariel, Maleficent, Cruella, Queen of Hearts, Cinderella, and Pocahontas, with an exclusive Wilds Unknown stamp to complement these gold accented cards!

Players must register on the Ravensburger Play Hub. Entry is $50.

What is Lorcana?

Disney Lorcana is a game where you team up with your favorite Disney characters and embark on exciting adventures! This immersive trading card game involves collecting cards and building decks, offers fun and strategic play, and lets you play against one or more opponents.

Wednesdays at 5:30 and Sundays at 1 PM, compete in our very own weekly tournaments for Yu-Gi-Oh! Battle it out in 3 rounds of a Swiss style tournament using your very own constructed decks. Each match won awards you with an OTS pack! If you haven’t received one by the end of the event, you get one just for participating!

Weekly tournaments are a great way to hang out, test out new decks, chat about Yu-Gi-Oh!, and more! Our entry fee is $5. Don’t have a deck? Check out our structure decks for sale in store! They offer great ways to pick up and learn the game, while highlighting iconic archetypes and characters from the franchise.
