Board Game Friday Nights for August at Gnome Games Green Bay West are all about the newness! We had a blast with Pop Up Gen Con, but if you couldn’t make it in to try the new games we’re picking some of our favorites to run the rest of the month. Stop in and play a new game every Friday!
Friday Night Game Nights are free and we play every Friday from 6 – 9 at Gnome Games Green Bay West
August 2 – Pop Up Gen Con
(If I typed up all the new games I’d be here all day!)
August 9 – Point Salad
Point Salad is a fast and fun card drafting game for the whole family. There are over 100 ways to score points. Players may use a variety of strategies and every game of Point Salad is unique!
Cards come in six different types of veggies, and the back of each card has a different scoring method. So for instance, one scoring method may award 2 points for every carrot you have, but deduct a point for every onion. By drafting combinations of veggies and point cards that work for your strategy, you can amass the most points and win.
August 16 – Bargain Quest
Bargain Quest is a game of adventure and capitalism for 2-6 players. You and your friends will take on the role of shopkeepers in an RPG town plagued by monsters. You must draft item cards to stock your shelves and arrange your displays to attract the wealthiest heroes to your shop.
After that, the heroes will face off against monstrous threats. If they succeed, fantastic! If they get eaten alive, well, at least nobody will ask for a refund.
Do you have what it takes to be the best shop in town?
August 23 – Walking in Burano
Walking through the island, you will see these vibrant houses on both sides of the canal, as well as the personalized decorations placed by the inhabitants and shopkeepers. The local government has asked you to refurbish a street in their famed city. Use your creativity to amaze both tourists and locals with your masterpiece of design! Assemble buildings of matching colors and gather matching icons from the available cards in the central tableau, using scaffolds if needed as they are being built to attract tourists and locals to them and score Victory Points.
August 30 – Star Trek Chrono-Trek
In Star Trek Chrono-Trek, a time-travel game similar to Chrononauts but set in the Star Trek universe, each player becomes a Star Trek character with a unique identity and a secret mission. During the game, players travel backwards and forwards through history, doing all those things people have always dreamed of using time travel to do: Visiting the great moments of the past, peeking into the future, collecting up artifacts, coming to grips with the paradoxes of time travel, and of course, changing pivotal events and altering the course of history itself.
Explore the history (and alternate history!) of the entire Star Trek universe in this version of Chrononauts. Try to alter history to restore your specific timeline! Maybe you need to ensure that the Federation gets founded, or just retrieve the Orb of Time and some tea. Earl Grey. Hot.
