Yu-Gi-Oh Special OTS 13 Pack Promotion!

Yu-Gi-Oh OTS Pack 13 – Purchase Promotion

Attention Yu-Gi-Oh players: We know how much you love the OTS packs you get from playing in our tournaments, but with recent events we haven’t been able to hold any tournaments. We don’t want you to miss out though, so our friends at Konami have announced a special promotion!

For OTS pack 13 Konami is allowing players to get some just for picking up new cards!

If you purchase $15 (before tax) in Yu-Gi-Oh product you get an OTS 13 pack too! For a $30 purchase you can get two!

This may not be combined with the Yu-Gi-Oh Lost Art promotion, so if you’re at $30 you can make a choice between a Lost Art Card or 2 OTS 13 packs. It’s up to you! (Or go big, spend $60 and get 2 OTS and a Lost Art!)

What can you buy to participate in the promotion? Any new Yu-Gi-Oh product like decks, booster packs, special edition sets are all eligible – as long as it adds up to the right amount.

This promotion is only good on OTS 13 and is while supplies last, so make sure you stop in!

We hope that you are all ready to rumb…shuffle in 2020 with OPUS XI – Soldier’s Return!

This new expansion will feature great Final Fantasy VII characters, splendid artwork as well as a brand new mechanic using card counters. While the release is still a couple months away, we wanted to start sharing the excitement with the contents of the pre-release kit!

Never played a pre-release before? Pre-releases are super fun, casual events, where you can play with the new cards before they are released! There are a few special rules so here is a little list about the pre-release format and special rules that apply!

Limited Sealed

  • Decks must contain at least 40 cards (40 to 41 cards recommended).
  • Victory is attained by inflicting 6 points of damage instead of the usual 7.
  • Players can have more than three copies of the same card in their deck.

Flow of the game:

  • Each player should open their 9 boosters to create their “card pool”.*
  • They should then build a deck using only the cards in their “card pool”.
  • Players should then participate in the tournament using the decks they have built.

*Due to the nature of the format, it is not permitted to use the pre-release promotional card included in the kit as part of the deck.

Friday Night Board Game Night at Green Bay West

Wonder what the Gnomes would pick if they got to choose their favorite for Friday Night Board Game? Find out March 13th when Anthony picks one of his favorites for Friday Night Board Games!

Want to learn a new game? Then come to Friday Night Board Games every Friday at Gnome Games Green Bay West. There will be a friendly Gnome always on hand to teach you the game of the night and sometimes we even have some special promo items to give away. Stop in and play a new game every Friday!

Friday Night Board Games are free and we play every Friday from 6 – 9 at Gnome Games Green Bay West

March 6 – Kodama 3-D

In Kodama 3D, players will grow trees in three-dimensional space. Players move their kodama pieces around a 4×4 grid of branch tiles in order to pick the branches they want to add to their tree. When a player adds a branch to their tree that doesn’t match what it is touching, they choose a goal card from the ones available. After all players have placed 12 branches on their tree, players score all of their goal cards. The player with the most points wins.

March 13 – Anthony’s Staff Pick!

This Friday we’re letting the Gnomes choose! It’s Anthony’s turn to pick a game for Friday Night Board Game. Come learn to play what he picks!  Stop in and see what he’s got on the table!

March 20 – Bees

Bees: The Secret Kingdom is family game based on Bees. In the game, players will choose between creating a honey card, or playing a flower card to get pollen tokens. This simple game has 2 modes, the first is for families and younger players, and second, the advanced one, is for adults.

The basic rules are really simple – players can draw two Gathering cards and play one of them, or make Honey using their gathered Resources. Playing Gathering cards grants all the players Resources tokens, but the player who was using this card will gain the greatest benefit. Despite the small coop erative touch, this is a fully competitive game and only the player who gains the most points wins.

March 27 – Nagaraja

Twin temples of two forgotten divinities containing ancient relics have been discovered in India. You set off on a treasure hunt, racing to find them before your rival, but your progress is slowed by a constantly shifting maze of paths… And eternal damnation awaits anyone foolish enough to uncover the three cursed relics of the evil god Garuda!

MOVE QUICKLY…CHOOSE WISELY! A treasure race packed with tough choices, twists & turns!

In this 2-players game, each player moves around their own temple, which has spaces for room tiles and hiding places for 9 sacred and cursed relics around. These relics are placed randomly, facedown, around the temples and worth victory points once flipped face up.
The first player to score 25 victory points wins the game. However, a player loses if they reveal all three cursed relics! Each round, the players compete to win a new room tile by using cards allowing them to throw fate sticks. The player with the most fate points
showing on their sticks wins the room tile and places it in their temple. Each player attempts to create paths leading to their relics, enabling them to flip them face up and score victory points.
Naga symbols on some sticks let you activate cards with powerful effects, so that you can never take anything for granted…

Friday Night Board Games – February at Gnome Games Green Bay West

What’s one of the best ways to spend time with those you love? Playing board games, of course!

February 7 – Oceans

The foundation of the oceanic food chain are billions of one-celled organisms that capture the sun’s energy through photosynthesis. Every other oceanic species is a predator, each bigger than the next, all the way up to the dreaded apex predator. And even bigger than apex predators are enormous filter feeders that gently swim through the ocean scooping up everything in their path with their baleen.

The foundation of Oceans is a simple turn structure and a deck of 12 traits, making it easy to learn all of the cards and wade effortlessly into the first game. Additionally, there are 2 randomly chosen scenario cards that activate (and sometimes deactivate) at various points in the game.

This foundation loosely mimics a scientific oceanic ecosystem.

Oceans also includes something which will break the seams of the scientific reality you’ve come to accept: The Deep. The Deep is a deck of 75 unique power cards that require an additional cost to play. These power cards range from things you might discover in nature to the fantastical Kraken or Leviathan.

Oceans is an engine builder where the world of science is disrupted at the seams by scientific phenomena too outlandish to be believed. Players must adapt to the changing environment with an interconnected ecosystem that can survive the march of time, and the natural struggle of predators seeking to survive.

February 14 – Games for Two!

This Friday will be a little different. Instead of one game we’ll be teaching a bunch! Tonight’s games will all be two player games. Patchwork, Mandala, Blossoms….perfect for Valentine’s Day! Come try a bunch of different games of all types.

February 21 – Runes and Regulations

Runes & Regulations is a 2-4 player strategic card game that combines the aggressiveness of a horde of dragons with the passive-aggressiveness of a suburban unicorn.

Immerse yourself in this world of magic and the mundane by summoning mythical pets and casting powerful spells, all within the comfort of your own home.

Goal: Collect 5 Mythical Creatures on your lawn to win.

To do this, you will draw cards from the main deck and add them to your hand. Then use the cards to:

  • Cast Powerful Spells
  • Summon Fantastical Creatures
  • Activate Enchanted Runes
  • Follow HOA Regulations

You can hex a neighbors creatures, destroy them or even steal them away.

February 28 – Wayfinders

Engines purring, goggles down—the seaplane is set for take-off! Welcome to the whimsical world of Wayfinders, where intrepid explorers race to chart new paths through the skies.

You will need to think on your feet and outfit your planes with the right gear to arrive safely. But building hangars on islands and stocking them with parts can help you zip around with ease! Be sure to be keen in your planning and you will unlock the charms of the islands. Wayfinders is the enchanting route-building game by Thomas Dagenais-Lespérance (Decrypto). Wheels up—adventure awaits!

January Friday Night Board Games at Gnome Games Green Bay West

Cabin fever setting in? Come beat the winter blues with Friday Night Board Games at Gnome Games Green Bay West. There will be a friendly Gnome always on hand to teach you the game of the night and sometimes we even have some special promo items to give away. Stop in and play a new game every Friday!

Friday Night Board Games are free and we play every Friday from 6 – 9 at Gnome Games Green Bay West

January 3 – Astronomy Fluxx

If you’ve ever dreamt of being an astronaut, Astronomy Fluxx is for you! This version of Fluxx takes you to outer space, but this time it’s not sci-fi. Featuring stunning NASA photographs of planets and other astronomical objects, you’ll have a blast while learning about space and humankind’s space flight history in this latest installment in the educational Fluxx series.

Fluxx is a game about change. It begins very simply, with a couple of core rules, and gradually becomes more complex as cards are played that change the rules. Even how you win will be constantly shifting, so you’re never sure who will win until someone does. With the perfect blend of luck and strategy, every game is different!

Gnome Games has an advance copy of Astronomy Fluxx. It’s not available until January 9th, so come and try it out before anyone else and reserve your copy for the release day!

January 10 – Tsuro Phoenix Rising

Long ago, a vengeful god stole the stars from the night sky. To illuminate the night, hopeful people sent glowing paper lanterns floating toward the heavens. Out of nowhere, clever magical phoenixes appeared, soaring through the sky. As they flew from lantern to lantern, their enchanted touch changed the lanterns into new stars! The phoenix who can create a constellation of seven new stars will be the champion of a world looking for light!

Tsuro: Phoenix Rising is a new entry in the classic Tsuro series. The game shares a bond with the foundations of the venerable original: play tiles, move pawns, and stay in play, but it introduces a revolutionary board that allows for the double-sided tiles to flip and rotate throughout the game, creating diverging paths and opening up new strategies.

Featuring gorgeous phoenix miniatures, beautiful lantern tokens, and unique gameplay elements such as life tokens that allow your phoenix to be reborn from the ashes once per game, Tsuro: Phoenix Rising is a new chapter in the legacy of Tsuro!

January 17 – Ravine

Ravine is a strategic and cooperative survival card game. You and your friends survived the plane crash, but will you survive the night? Work together to forage for food, craft a fire, and build shelters, but be wary: every step you take in the ravine could be one step closer to madness.

During the Day, players risk their hearts to leave camp and forage for food and supplies. Before sunset, players work together, share what they found, and craft supplies. If you prepare well enough, you may survive the Night.

Be prepared for more than just bumps in the night. Weather, animals, and other wild things will put you and your team to the test. BEWARE: Fall below two hearts and you will go mad.

Lose all of your hearts to risk or the elements, and you lose the game. Survive all of the Night cards in your deck, and you win.

January 24 – Dust in the Wings

Dust in the Wings is a family game of perception, planning, and picturing the beauty of nature. Built on the wisdom of Mancala — a beloved game known for thousands of years — Dust in the Wings creates an experience that is light on rules, engaging in its gameplay, and wondrous to the eye!

At the beginning of the game, Butterflies are placed on each flower in the Meadow, a 5×5 grid on the main game board. During each turn, a player attempts to fulfill the requirements of various objectives in order to score victory points.

The board is manipulated Mancala style. The active player will choose a single Meadow space and pick up all Butterflies from that space. One by one, these Butterflies are dispersed. The first Butterfly is placed onto any one Meadow space adjacent to the space which the Butterflies were picked up from. The next Butterfly is placed onto any one Meadow space adjacent to that space, and so on.

The goal is to place the last Butterfly onto a Meadow space so that the space fulfills the requirement of a Gathering objective or Composition objective.
At the end of the game, a player’s score is calculated. Each Composition card is worth a number of points as indicated on the card. The values of various Scoring markers, which were collected when completing Gathering objectives, are also added to the final tally.

The player with the most points is the winner!

January 31 – Quirky Circuits

Quirky Circuits is a game of robot programming silliness in which each player contributes to the programming of an adorable robo-friend. But be warned — no one knows which commands the other players will be tossing in! Will you be able to help the little robot complete its task, or will you unleash automated mayhem? Be careful for you’ll have to work together before your robot’s battery is drained! With 21 scenarios of increasing intensity, Quirky Circuits is guaranteed to provide hours of brain-bending fun.

Gnome Games Holiday Staff Picks Part 2 – Here are some more of our favorite games!

St. Nick comes tonight, have you put your stocking out? Here’s a few more of our Gnomes’ favorite holiday games from their Christmas Stockings!

Akeem’s Pick – The Resistance Avalon

This is a great game to play with 5 people, but also great game to play with 10 people!! I have played this game with adult friends, my 4th grade students, and in non gaming circles, and it has always been a hit. It’s an engaging social deduction game, that is quick to play and never looks the same with each round you play! A bluffing game that really makes you think, where alliances can be made and broken instantly!

In this hidden role game, players are randomly assigned to a team of either good or evil and have to work together to achieve their team’s objective. With a King Arthur theme, all players will go through a quick dialog to start that sets the tone for the game. Although few, the Evil Team (minions of Mordred) get to know who each other are. Unfortunately, the Good Team is left in the dark to start and unsure of who to trust. One player will assume the role of Merlin (servant to King Arthur). He knows the identity of the evil servants, but must remain hidden or the game is lost. The Evil Team will attempt to stop the Good Team (servants of King Arthur) in their efforts to complete quests without giving it away that they are playing for the evil side. If a minion of Mordred manages to get themselves on a quest mission, they can cause it to fail. Three failed quests or three successful quests determines the winner. Servants of Arthur must use a healthy amount of discussion, accusation, and deduction to determine who is loyal to whom.

Emery’s Pick – Uno

My staff holiday pick this year is Uno! The reason that I love Uno so much is because it’s a classic that I grew up playing, and it’s a game that’s easy to learn. The goal of Uno is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand. The way to achieve this is to match the color or number of the card that the person laid down before you. If you don’t have any matching cards, you have to draw cards until you are able to do so. You can also attempt to thwart your opponents by playing cards which cause them to draw more cards or skip their turn. Don’t forget to yell out “Uno!” when you have one card left in your hand.

The fast pace and simple rules makes Uno the perfect game for anyone to join in on. I’ve played this game with both friends and college roommates, and its level of enjoyment has held up for well over a decade. There are also endless versions of Uno to choose from such as Unocorns, BTS Uno, Harry Potter Uno, Super Mario Uno, Captain Marvel Uno, Minecraft Uno, Flip Uno, and much more!

Sam’s Pick – Bang!: The Dice Game

Bang!: The Dice Game is a push-your-luck social deduction game. This game does a really nice job of combining mechanics prevalent in a lot of dice games and adding social deduction elements. At the beginning of the game each player gets a character and a role. The character will give you some small bonus ability to help stack the odds in your favor. There are four different roles in the base game, Sheriff, Deputy, Outlaw, and Renegade. Sheriff is trying to defeat the Outlaws, Deputy tries to protect the Sheriff, Outlaws try to defeat the Sheriff and the Renegade tries to be the last man standing.

After each player has a character and role, the game begins! The game starts with the Sheriff rolling all five of the dice. Each side of the dice has an action tied to it, basically you can shoot other players, heal yourself, get shot with arrows, or have dynamite explode in your hands! The game ends once The Sheriff dies, all outlaws are dealt with, or the Renegade is the last one surviving.

This game works well for all groups of people. It is one of those games that is just engrossing enough to keep you entertained but allows for conversation around the table. It is not a hard game to learn, but there is a good balance between luck and skill involved. After mastering the base game; the expansion Bang! The Dice Game Old Saloon, offers a lot of new content including new roles (and role abilities), characters, and dice!

Dillon’s Pick – Gloom (of Thrones)

Gloom is a great game for those that don’t want to let go of the month of October just yet. In it you are tasked with making your family as miserable as possible before their untimely demise, you also must try to make other families as happy as possible while doing this. For even more fun, if you’re a Game of Thrones fan, theirs a new edition of Gloom “Gloom of Thrones” where you get cards and families based off the books\show (maybe you can make a better ending than the show). I usually play this with my wife and friends whenever we can and have a few of the expansions to go with it.

Shelby’s Pick – Red Dragon Inn

The red dragon inn is a PG-13 game centering around a group of adventures who have just returned from a long day of dungeon crawling and looting. After getting healed up and cleaned up they have decided to spend a night partying at the Red Dragon inn. The aim of the game is to be the last adventurer conscious with gold in their pouch, as you and your party mates enjoy a night of rough-housing, drinking and gambling.

I normally play this game with a group of 6 or more friends. Although the box says 2-4 characters, the game comes with many expansions and quirky characters to get bigger parties and more exciting events, one of which being a villain vs heroes play style available with some expansions. We all love the game simply for its complex but easy to follow mechanics and its funny characters with their own unique decks and abilities. This game is an all around fun experience with a lot of replay ability, making it perfect for group of friends or a (teenage kid) family game night.
