“This format is for four players per game and deck sizes are 99 cards + 1 commander card. The game duration for this format should be about 20 minutes per player.

The Commander format is all about picking your hero and building a deck around them. In this casual, multiplayer format, you choose a legendary creature to serve as your commander and build the rest of your deck around their color identity and unique abilities. Players are only allowed one of each card in their deck, with the exception of basic lands, but they can use cards from throughout Magic’s history.”

Yu-Gi-Oh! Burst Protocol Premiere! Weekend at Gnome Games Green Bay West

Burst Protocol Premiere

Burst ProtocolYou’re invited to the Burst Protocol Premiere Weekend at Gnome Games Green Bay West! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, January 30th to February 1st!

Entry is $22.50+tax, getting the entrant 5 packs of Burst Protocol and a Field Center Card celebrating the set! Each entrant will also be entered into a drawing for prizes!

Burst Protocol contains:

  • 10 Secret Rares
  • 14 Ultra Rares
  • 26 Super Rares
  • 50 Commons

(25 cards available as Starlight Rares!)

“Rokkets” return in Burst Protocol, along with the latest “Forbidden” Quick-Play Spell Card: Forbidden Crown!

Depicting the struggle of powers above and below, the “Forbidden” series of Quick-Play Spells started way back in 2009. Forbidden Crown is the sixth, and the one with the most effects (so far)!

As the saying goes, “heavy is the head that wears the crown.” The monster chosen by Forbidden Crown gets hit with ALL of these effects for the rest of the turn:

  • Its effects are negated.
  • It can’t attack.
  • It can’t be destroyed.
  • It’s unaffected by card effects – except its own.
  • It can’t be Tributed, or used as Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Material.

And finally, neither player can use monster effects in response to the Crown to try and stop it.

Since the Crown, like all “Forbidden” Quick-Plays, can be used on either turn, you can use it on any monster, friend or foe, as offense or defense, depending on the situation. You can stop your opponent’s monster effects, disrupt their Summoning strategy by making a monster unusable as material, or make it indestructible while it’s stuck in Attack Position so you can run over it again and again to smash their Life Points. On the other hand, you can use it on your own monsters to protect them from enemy card effects, from being destroyed in battle, and from being used as material by your opponent. And since it opens so many possibilities, it’s a great card to Set if you’re going first, because it always has a great use.

Every Duelist who purchases a minimum of 5 packs will receive a Field Center Card* and be entered into a drawing to win exclusive prizes including a Game Mat* and a Secret Rare Card*!

The Premiere! Event will be held on Friday, January 30th, Saturday, January 31st, and Sunday, February 1st, during regular business hours.

What is 2-Headed Giant?

Play, plan, and battle as a team. In Two-Headed Giant Commander, the life total is shared and starts at 60 life. A team loses when they take 21 or more damage from a single commander OR have 15 or more poison counters. Each team takes their turn simultaneously. The team does not share any other resources other than life. For instance, any reference to “you” on a card still applies to the individual holder.

Effects that read “each opponent” or “each player”, however, affect each team member separately. Players can block any creature(s) that are attacking them, their teammates or Planeswalkers their team controls.
