Yu-Gi-Oh! Burst Protocol Premiere! Weekend at Gnome Games Appleton East

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Yu-Gi-Oh! Burst Protocol Premiere! Weekend!

January 30th, 31st, and February 1st, we’re hosting a Burst Protocol Premiere! Head in to buy 5 packs of the newest set ($22.50+tax) and qualify for a giveaway! At the end of each day, we’ll do a giveaway of all participants for a K9-X “Ripper/M” promotional card and a Burst Protocol Premiere playmat! On Sunday at 1 PM, we’re having a tournament! Buy 5 packs of Burst Protocol for entry and participate in an Advanced Constructed tournament where rounds are based on attendance! At most, that is 5 rounds without Top Cut.

Players must have a Konami ID to participate. Purchases must be made with a Konami ID. Entry to any Premiere! Participation or Premiere! Tournament is $22.50+tax, which is the cost of 5 packs. If packs are purchased ahead of time for the participation event on Sunday, entry is also granted to the tournament at 1 PM. Giveaways for playmats and promo cards are done separately from the tournament. Players cannot win more than one promotional card and one promotional playmat throughout the duration of the weekend.

What is Burst Protocol?

Depicting the struggle of powers above and below, the “Forbidden” series of Quick-Play Spells started way back in 2009. Forbidden Crown is the sixth, and the one with the most effects (so far)!

As the saying goes, “heavy is the head that wears the crown.” The monster chosen by Forbidden Crown is hit with ALL of these effects for the rest of the turn:

Its effects are negated.
It can’t attack.
It can’t be destroyed.
It’s unaffected by card effects – except its own.
It can’t be Tributed, or used as Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Material.
And finally, neither player can use monster effects in response to the Crown to try and stop it.

Since the Crown, like all “Forbidden” Quick-Plays, can be used on either turn, you can use it on any monster, friend or foe, as offense or defense, depending on the situation. You can stop your opponent’s monster effects, disrupt their Summoning strategy by making a monster unusable as material, or make it indestructible while it’s stuck in Attack Position so you can run over it again and again to smash their Life Points. On the other hand, you can use it on your own monsters to protect them from enemy card effects, from being destroyed in battle, and from being used as material by your opponent. And since it opens so many possibilities, it’s a great card to Set if you’re going first, because it always has a great use.

Battletech and Bloodbowl: Miniature Tuesdays – Green Bay West

Join the Gnomes each Tuesday for our Miniature day! Whether that is by joining our painters as they put their first or finishing touches to their models or by battling on the tabletop, all are invited to play each Tuesday at Gnome Games!

In February we’re focusing on Battletech and Bloodbowl, but anything from Star Wars: Armada to Zombicide are welcome! If you will need more than one table, we just ask that you call ahead so we can get things set up for you!

What is Battletech?

It is the 32nd century, and endless wars rage across human-occupied space. These epic clashes between star empires are won and lost by BattleMechs, 30-foot-tall humanoid metal titans bristling with lasers, autocannons and other lethal weapons. Your elite force of MechWarriors drives these juggernauts into battle, proudly holding your faction’s flag high to expand the power and glory of your realm. Will you become a legend, or a forgotten casualty?

Check out the quick start rules and more here: https://battletech.com/qsr/

What is Blood Bowl?

Blood Bowl is a tabletop game of fantasy football set in an alternative version of Warhammer’s Old World. Players take on the role of coach for a motley team of miniatures from races including Humans, Orcs, Elves, Dwarfs, Ogres, and the Undead and roll dice as they battle for gridiron supremacy.

Blood Bowl predates Warhammer 40k by a year! It’s been through many iterations, and is currently on the Third Season Edition!
