Grand Archive Tournament – Green Bay West

Weekly Grand Archive at Gnome Games Green Bay West

Entry: $7
This is a 3 round, win a match – win a pack tournament.

Minimum 4 players for tournaments!

Everyone gets a promo pack just for participating!

Objective

In a game of Grand Archive, each player controls a champion. You win the game by defeating each opponent’s champion. This makes champion cards one of the most influential card types in deck building, and is considered the heart of your deck.

Each champion has a life stat marked in the bottom right corner of the card. When champions take an amount of damage, that many damage counters are marked on them. If the amount of damage counters on a champion reaches their life stat, that champion dies.

Setting Up

Each player brings two decks to a game of Grand Archive. One deck is called the Material Deck and the other is called the Main Deck.
The Material Deck consists of champion and regalia cards that you will be materializing throughout the game. Your Material Deck may only have up to one card of each name in it and is limited to 12 total cards. Your Material Deck is also required to have at least one level 0 champion in it, which is important for starting the game. Here are some cards you will see in this deck.
The other deck is called the Main Deck. This deck consists of cards you’ll draw into your hand during play. You may have up to 4 cards of each name in your Main Deck, with a minimum deck size of 60 cards. This deck usually contains various different card types such as ally, action, attack, and more.

It’s that spooky time of the year where you’re looking for more of those scary vibes, and we aim to provide! Each character comes with a guide on how to level them up after this module, no Handbook required!

What do I need to participate?

A full set of dice is required to play. To be more specific, a full set of dice includes a d4 (4-sided die), d6 (6-sided die), d8 (8-sided die), d10 (10-sided die), percentile d10 (00-90), d12 (12-sided die), and d20 (20-sided die). We provide pre-made character sheets!

What is Dungeons & Dragons (D&D)?

Dungeons & Dragons is a classic tabletop role-playing game that has been around since 1974! Throughout the years it has developed and grown into a beloved franchise of not just rulebooks, but novels, video games, and even popular movies! In Dungeons & Dragons, players will take on the role of their very own character and act out all of their movements and conversations themselves. Often times these actions will lead into checks the player has to make, where they will roll dice and add some character statistics together to see how well they do! Both success and failure come together to make these games happen, so be ready for anything!

An important part to playing Dungeons & Dragons is having a story teller, lovingly labeled as the Dungeon Master (DM)! The DM will run the campaign for players and dictate how the story flows as the characters progress. They can use preconstructed campaigns referred to as modules, or craft their very own stories from scratch! Either way, the DM usually has a lot of planning to do to make things flow well. It’s a very rewarding feeling, though!

More information is available on D&D Beyond, which highlights both digital and physical aspects of Dungeons & Dragons.
