Magic the Gathering Lorwyn Eclipsed Commander Box League at Gnome Games Appleton East

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Magic the Gathering Lorwyn Eclipsed Main Event Prerelease!

Tuesday, January 20th marks another Lorwyn Eclipsed Prerelease! Starting at 5 PM, players will open up an entire box of Lorwyn Eclipsed, craft a 60 card commander deck from it, and play in matches with other players to test out those decks! Each player gets an exclusive promo just for participating! If players want to purchase a box ahead of time and then use it in this event, we will provide sheets for them to fill out. These ensure fair play for everyone in attendance.

Players will need a Wizards account to enter into the event. This can be done via the Companion App or with the check-in staff. Entry is the purchase of a Lorwyn Eclipsed Booster Box, which is $185.

What is Lorwyn Eclipsed?

Lorwyn Eclipsed is the next Universes Within set for Magic the Gathering! Return to the plane of Lorwyn for the first time since 2008. Cross the boundry into the eternal day of Lorwyn, where the many creatures live in order and harmony under the watchful eye of their sun god Eirdu—while the twilight god Isilu resides across the border where day becomes night. Sunday, January 18th marks the third day of our Lorwyn Eclipsed Prereleases! Starting at 1 PM we’re launching straight into 3 rounds of a Swiss style tournament. Before the tournament, however, is deck building! Players have 50 minutes to open up a prerelease kit and build a 40 card deck to play with through the tournament! Then it’s time for 50 minute rounds, best of 3! Receive 2 packs at the end of the event just for playing!

Players will need a Wizards account to enter into the event. This can be done via the Companion App or with the check-in staff. Entry is $45.

Saturday, January 17th marks the second day of our Lorwyn Eclipsed Prereleases! Starting at 2 PM we’re launching straight into 3 rounds of a Swiss style tournament. Before the tournament, however, is deck building! Players have 50 minutes to open up a prerelease kit and build a 40 card deck to play with through the tournament! Then it’s time for 50 minute rounds, best of 3, where each round won awards you with a Lorwyn Eclipsed pack! Don’t get a pack by the end? We’ll have one for you just for participating!

This event has a two-headed giant twist! You will be participating with a partner, and play in 2v2 matches.

Players will need a Wizards account to enter into the event. This can be done via the Companion App or with the check-in staff. Entry is $90.

Lorcana Whispers in the Well Set Championship at Gnome Games Appleton East – $20

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Lorcana Whispers in the Well Set Championship!

On Sunday, January 11th at 1 pm we’re hosting a Set Championship! The format is Core Constructed in a Swiss style tournament. Rounds are 60 minutes best of 3, and each match won awards you with a pack of Whispers in the Well! Each participant will receive a Daisy Duck – Paranormal Investigator non-foil promo card, top 8 will receive a Daisy Duck – Paranormal Investigator foil promo card, and the grand Winner will receive a Daisy Duck – Paranormal Investigator Champion playmat!

Players should register ahead of time on the Ravensburger Play Hub. Entry is $20.

What is Whispers in the Well about?

Bringing an air of mystery to the realm, Whispers roam the Inkwell Caverns. These new types of glimmers are not fully formed, having been summoned off torn or damaged Lorebook pages. Light your path! It will take some detective work and sleuthing magic to get to the bottom of this mystery. Grab your magnifying glass and follow the whispers. With a team of glimmers who possess cunning minds, observant eyes, and playful attitudes, you’ll uncover clues that await you below. Not only will you face off against the Headless Horseman, but you’ll also happen upon other characters from this classic folk tale, including Ichabod Crane, Katrina Van Tassel, and Brom Bones!

These events are hosted at Gnome Games and let you play with a new set a week ahead of its release.

Ravensburger Speed Puzzle Competition – 2 Person Adult Team – Green Bay West

January 10th Ravensburger Puzzle Event 4pm start

Welcome once more to a Puzzle Competition at Gnome Games Green Bay West!

Saturday, January 10th we will be hosting a puzzlers at 4pm!

To compete, you’ll be signing up as a team of 2 Adult puzzlers. (Ages 16+), with a $20 entry!

Basic Rules:
1. Gnome Games will place competition puzzles on tables.
Boxes will not be visible to competitors ahead of time.
(We’ll use a bag or giftwrap to hide the puzzles.)

2. All teams start at exact same time. When the competition begins, puzzlers can then
open their box and begin puzzling. A 2 hour timer will be placed on the event.
3. The race ends when the first three teams have completed the entire puzzle.

Prizes: The three winning teams can then select prizes of Ravensburger products from the host store for the total retail amounts listed below:

1st place: $200.00
2nd place: $100.00
3rd place: $50.00

You’ll want to be piecing things together quickly with your partner! Last year’s competition had their 500 piece puzzle completed in less than an hour, with 2nd and 3rd place not far behind! 😀 The teams will also get to keep the puzzle their puzzles.

Here’s what Ravensburger has to say about Speed Puzzling competitions from previous years: “Speed puzzling is an exhilarating twist on traditional puzzle-solving, akin to a competitive sport. Participants race against the clock to complete a puzzle in the shortest time possible, embodying the spirit of athleticism and strategic skill. This thrilling challenge combines the joy of puzzling with the excitement of competition, offering a unique and fast-paced experience for enthusiasts of all levels.”
