Prepare to step into the vibrant world of mystery at your favorite Gnome Games store, as it is transformed into a scene of intrigue and suspense. A beloved figure has fallen, and sinister whispers hang heavy in the air. Could it be the charismatic, competitive Barnaby “Mana Burn” Bolt, forever vying for supremacy? Or perhaps the gentle Lyra “Land Whisperer” Willowbrook, championing environmental awareness? Every Planeswalker amongst us becomes a suspect, and every card cast holds a clue.

Hark, Planeswalkers! There has been a murder at Gnome Games and we need your help to solve the mystery!

For one event at each store only, Gnome Games transforms into a stage for murder and mayhem. You are no longer just patrons seeking prereleases and preordained packs. You are investigators, thrust into a tangled web of deceit and suspicion.

Unravel the clues as you play in the Magic the Gathering Murders at Karlov Manor Prerelease.

Decipher cryptic messages, untangle alibis, and navigate hidden passages. Use your strategic minds and collaborative spirit to interrogate suspects, analyze evidence, and piece together the puzzle before the final match is played. In the spirit of Magic the Gathering, you’ll earn more than more boosters when you win a match; clues are truly what you seek!

Warhammer 40K Premiere Holiday Tournament at Gnome Games Appleton East – $20

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Warhammer 40K Premiere Holiday Tournament!

On December 20th we’re hosting another Warhammer 40K Premiere Tournament, this time with a Holiday twist! Starting with registration at 9:30 AM, players will come in and register at the front to confirm their armies. Attendees must bring their army, dice, a tape measure, all relevant rules publications, and at least 2 physical copies of their army roster (one for the Event staff and one for each opponent). If you are using any electronic devices to carry your official rules references, please ensure they are charged and available for reference at all times. Armies must be 2000 points.

Rounds will be 2 hours and 30 minutes each. Round 1 begins promptly at 10 AM. At the end of Round 1, which will end at 12:30, there will be a 30 minute lunch period. Please come prepared for this timed lunch period. Pairings are up by time Round 2 starts at 1 PM. Round 2 ends at 3:30, and our final Round starts around 3:45! The tournament will end around 6:10, where we will then calculate standings and hand out prizing!

For this tournament, we will have a special Snowball ability. Once per battle, you may throw a snowball! On a 4 or higher, it hits! Affected units hit by the snowball suffer -1 BS for the rest of the turn. This ability cannot be used until the next battle.

Keep an eye out for updates on scenarios and prizing! These will be announced the week leading up to the tournament.

December Pokemon League Challenge at Gnome Games Appleton East – $5/$10

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our December Pokémon TCG League Challenge!

It’s the time of the month where we do our competitive level Pokémon TCG League Challenge! On December 20th at 12 PM we’ll be taking off in a 3 round Swiss style tournament! Each match won awards you with Prize Packs, so the better you do, the more Championship Points you get, the more likely you are to get an invitation to the Pokémon World Championships. Additionally each round, a Prize Pack goes out to a random player!

Each round is 30 minutes, best of one. Entry for Juniors and Seniors is $5, and entry for Masters is $10. Players will need a Pokémon ID to enter into the tournament. Don’t have one? We can help you sign up! We have sheets available in-store, and the rest of the registration process can be done at home.

What is a Pokémon League Challenge?

Pokémon League Challenges are competitive level tournaments at the Local Store level. These events are entry-level competitions, great for competitors of all experience levels! League Challenges specifically grant Championship Points toward earning an invitation to the Pokémon World Championships. League Challenge events are typically held once per month at select Pokémon League locations. These events use the Standard format, and require decks to be Tournament legal.

At higher levels are Pokémon League Cups. Typically held quarterly, League Cup event competitors can expect a step up, with tougher competitors vying for greater rewards. These also offer greater rewards, including more Championship Points and a Championship Playmat!

Dragon Ball Fusion World -Saiyan’s Pride- Release Event at Gnome Games Appleton East – $30

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Dragon Ball Fusion World -Saiyan’s Pride- Release Event!

On Saturday, December 20th we’re hosting a Dragon Ball Super Fusion World Release Event! Celebrate the release of the Saiyan’s Pride [FB08] set, introducing five new Leader cards, new alternate art cards, and serial codes for the digital version of the game! The event starts at 2 PM, where players will open four packs, build a deck, then launch into a 3 round Swiss Style Tournament. Each match won awards players with another pack! Each participant will receive a -Saiyan’s Pride- Release Event Pack and a FP-068 Trunks: Future promotional card. The grand winner receives a special FP-068 Trunks: Future(Alt-art ver.) with a special Winner stamp!

Entry is $30. Players must register ahead of time on Bandai TCG+.

What are Sealed events like for Dragon Ball Super Fusion World?

Sealed style events for Dragon Ball Super Fusion World start with players each opening four packs of the specified set. Players choose Battle Cards and Extra Cards to make a deck of exactly 30 cards. Also, players will choose 1 Leader Card from the CARD DATABASE on the official website. A digital substitute via phone would work! Then, players go right into battles!

What is Dragon Ball Super Fusion World?

Dragon Ball Fusion World is a Trading Card Game where players battle each other using their favorite characters from all across Dragon Ball! A plethora of Starter Decks await for you to choose from! Each one is themed around a different character from Dragon Ball! Play with Goku, Vegeta, Freiza, Broly, and more! Each Starter Deck comes with a complete ready to play 51 card deck, a Playsheet/Rules Manual, and a Code Card to unlock the deck for the Digital Version of the game!

Digimon Card Game Evolution Cup 2025 Vol. 3 at Gnome Games Appleton East – $15

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Digimon Card Game Evolution Cup 2025 Vol. 3 event!

On Sunday, December 14th we’re hosting an Evolution Cup! This one is volume 3 of the 2025 series. Compete in a higher level tournament for exclusive promotional cards! The tournament will be formatted at for 3 rounds, 55 minutes each, best of three! Each match won awards you with an additional pack! Each participant receives a MetalGarurumon (Alt-Art), the top 4 will receive a WarGreymon (Alt-Art), and the grand Winner will receive a Nokia Shiramine (Alt-Art)!

Entry is $15. Players need to register ahead of time on Bandai TCG+. Players must have a tournament legal Digimon deck.

What is Digimon?

The Digimon Card Game is a competitive trading card game. Each player has a companion Digimon in the battle area to attack the opponent. Your Digimon evolves, gets stronger, and gains new power! You win by beating your opponent’s security (reducing your opponent’s Security Area cards to zero) and delivering a knockout blow!

To play the Digimon Card Game, you need a deck of cards. For your first time, we recommend a pre-built Starter Deck! You can strengthen your Digimon with Booster Packs to win battles! For more questions about Digimon, check out their Tutorials and “About Us” page!

Union Arena Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Vol. 2 Release Event at Gnome Games Appleton East – $30

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Union Arena Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Vol. 2 Release Event!

On Saturday, December 13th, we’re hosting a release event for Union Arena! Join us for the second release of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba set with brand new packs! Crack open 5 packs and use them as a deck to battle other players in a 3 round Swiss style Tournament where each match won awards you with another pack! Each participant gets a release event pack, 4th through 2nd place get a Muichiro Tokito Action Point card, and the grand winner gets a Winner stamped Muichiro Tokito Action Point card!

Players need to register ahead of time on Bandai TCG+.

What do I need to know for Deckbuilding?

Because of the nature of sealed events, decks can contain more than four cards with the same card number. It can also contain more than four of each of the Special, Color, and Final trigger types. 5 booster packs contribute to creating as close to a 60 card deck as possible. A deck needs 3 Action Point cards, Raids can be performed using cards with two different colors, and five Special triggers can be in a deck. Bring your own sleeves from home or purchase some before the event!
