Dust off your sleuthing skills and sharpen your spellcasting focus, for Gnome Games invites you to an event unlike any other: Murder at the Gnome Games: a Magic: the Gathering Prerelease like no other, shrouded in the chilling mystery of Murder at Karlov Manor Prereleases that only you can solve!

Prepare to step into the vibrant world of mystery at your favorite Gnome Games store, as it is transformed into a scene of intrigue and suspense. A beloved figure has fallen, and sinister whispers hang heavy in the air. Could it be the charismatic, competitive Barnaby “Mana Burn” Bolt, forever vying for supremacy? Or perhaps the gentle Lyra “Land Whisperer” Willowbrook, championing environmental awareness? Every Planeswalker amongst us becomes a suspect, and every card cast holds a clue.

For one event at each store only, Gnome Games transforms into a stage for murder and mayhem. You are no longer just patrons seeking prereleases and preordained packs. You are investigators, thrust into a tangled web of deceit and suspicion.

Unravel the clues as you play in the Magic the Gathering Murders at Karlov Manor Prerelease.

Decipher cryptic messages, untangle alibis, and navigate hidden passages. Riftbound Origins Deck Event at Gnome Games Appleton East – $30

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Riftbound Origins Deck Event!

To celebrate the release of Riftbound, we are hosting an event with the new Champion Decks! Entrants get a deck of their choice (while supplies last) and two packs to crack open to upgrade them, then battle it out with other players! This event is aimed at teaching people how to play Riftbound, so we will not have strict tournament rounds. Instead, anyone that plays at least one full round will get a special promo!

The three champion decks will be Jinx, Viktor, and Lee Sin. These are all characters from the developer Riot Games’ League of Legends Franchise.

Entry to the event will be $30. Play starts at 3 PM on Saturday, November 1st and at 2 PM on Sunday, November 2nd.

What is Riftbound?

Riftbound is a brand new Trading Card Game from Riot Games, based on the League of Legends franchise. In Riftbound, players choose their champions to use alongside their armies and spells to take control of battlefields. You can start with preconstructed decks, or build your own! A deck starts with a Champion Legend, which dictates the types of Domains (colors) that can be used in the deck. In Origins, all Champion Legends have two domains. Your Champion Legend also dictates your Chosen Champion, and both contribute to your strategy. Use additional units, spells, and gear to conquer and hold battlefields and strive for victory!

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Riftbound Origins Release Event!

Riftbound is a brand new Trading Card Game from Riot Games, based on the League of Legends franchise. Their first set is Origins, releasing October 31st, and we’re hosting an event to commemorate it! Starting at 5 PM, we will be seating players for our very first Riftbound event. Players open 6 packs, craft a 25 card deck, and play in 3 rounds of a Swiss style Tournament. Each match won earns you an additional pack! We will have sheets out to help everyone understand the game and how deck building works. Entry is $40.

Magic the Gathering: A Villainous Halloween at Gnome Games Appleton East – $5

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for Magic the Gathering: A Villainous Halloween!

Starting at 6 PM on Friday, October 31st, we are hosting a special twist on our Commander nights. Players bring their own Commander decks and, at the start of the game, secretly choose a villain card, each representing a classic villain from Magic’s history with its own alternate win condition! As the game goes on, players can work towards their secret objective. Once these conditions are met, the villain card is revealed. Other players begin losing their turns at their end steps if they cannot stop the villain in time.

At the end of the event, each player will have the opportunity to take a set of the villain cards and a play sheet to host the event at home! Entry for this event is $5 of any Magic the Gathering related product, same as our standard Commander nights. If you can convince us it’s related to Magic the Gathering, you’re all set!

What do I need for this event?

A commander deck is required to play in this event. If a player does not have a commander deck, we always have some for sale that players can pick up and learn with ease!
