Dust off your sleuthing skills and sharpen your spellcasting focus, for Gnome Games invites you to an event unlike any other: Murder at the Gnome Games: a Magic: the Gathering Prerelease like no other, shrouded in the chilling mystery of Murder at Karlov Manor Prereleases that only you can solve!

Prepare to step into the vibrant world of mystery at your favorite Gnome Games store, as it is transformed into a scene of intrigue and suspense. A beloved figure has fallen, and sinister whispers hang heavy in the air. Could it be the charismatic, competitive Barnaby “Mana Burn” Bolt, forever vying for supremacy? Or perhaps the gentle Lyra “Land Whisperer” Willowbrook, championing environmental awareness? Every Planeswalker amongst us becomes a suspect, and every card cast holds a clue.

For one event at each store only, Gnome Games transforms into a stage for murder and mayhem. You are no longer just patrons seeking prereleases and preordained packs. You are investigators, thrust into a tangled web of deceit and suspicion.

Unravel the clues as you play in the Magic the Gathering Murders at Karlov Manor Prerelease.

Decipher cryptic messages, untangle alibis, and navigate hidden passages. Use your strategic minds and collaborative spirit to interrogate suspects, analyze evidence, and piece together the puzzle before the final match is played. Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our One Piece Store Treasure Cup November 2025​!

On Wednesday, November 26th at 5 PM, we’ll be hosting an exclusive Store Treasure Cup! Participate in an upgraded weekly tournament where players get promos for participation, and higher placements get you greater rewards! Each match won awards you with another pack! This is a Swiss style tournament, where rounds will be based on attendance in accordance with the One Piece Card Game Tournament Rules Manual. The top 8 players will receive a Black Gold DON!! Card, Top 4 players will receive a Treasure Cup November 2025 Alt-Art Card OP12-031 Tashigi, and the grand Winner gets a OP13-120 Sabo! Everyone receives an Event Pack Vol. 6 for participating.

Players must register for the event on TCG+ ahead of the event. Entry is $15.

Decks must be a 50-card Tournament legal deck sleeved in opaque sleeves.

What is the One Piece Card Game?

The One Piece Card Game is a trading card game originally released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the One Piece manga. Create your very own crew with all of your favorite characters from the series! How you enjoy it is entirely up to you: Collect. Battle. Display. Play solo, with your family, or with your friends! This is a special event where players will buy packs, select an element, and build a deck to battle with. Each week they return, they get an additional element! Here’s how it works:

Players begin by purchasing six Magic: The Gathering | Avatar: The Last Airbender Play Boosters and selecting one of four emblems: Air, Water, Earth, and Fire! Emblems grant players unique benefits during games.  With Play Boosters in hand, players build a 40-card sealed deck to play against other opponents every week. Each week that players return, they buy one pack to bolster their decks, choose another element, and battle again! Collect all four elements to get an exclusive Foil Art Print!

Entry to this event is the purchase of the packs. The first week, you’ll buy six packs to make your deck. In following weeks, you’ll only purchase one additional pack! We’ll keep track of elements here to ensure players don’t lose their elements, and to ensure fair play!

Play starts at 5:30 every Wednesday, but players can hop in at any point in the night until we close at 9! A Wizards account is required to register. To preregister for the event on the Companion app, use this code: GXZEP36 (This only applies to December 3rd!)

Board Game Night at Gnome Games Appleton East – Free!

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for a Board Game Night! This week: Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza!

This Tuesday, November 25th, we’re featuring Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza! A demo copy will be set up for anyone to try, absolutely free! Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza too much of a mouthful to try? We have an entire Stay and Play Library at your disposal! While this exclusive opportunity to learn Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza from our staff is limited, our Stay and Play Library is available to pick from during all open hours.

Keep an eye out for future events! We will be hosting Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza for two weeks, just in case people can’t make it to the first one. Or if you want to come in and play it twice, we don’t judge! Next Tuesday, December 2nd, will be our second running of it.

What is Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza?

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza is filled to the brim with hand-slapping mayhem! Each player places a card from their hand face up into a community pile while saying taco/cat/goat/cheese/pizza in player sequence. When the card matches the mantra — boom! — everyone slaps their hand on the deck, with the last one to slap picking up the cards. Whoever rids themselves of cards first wins!

This game is great for quick setup and play, while also being a great stocking stuffer! Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza also comes in various editions, such as Christmas, Easter, and more!

What are board game nights?

We at Gnome Games Appleton East are kickstarting our board game nights. One board game will be the showcase, while other similar games will be available to try out! These games are available every day via our demo library, but board game nights will be for learning in a more focused environment. Keep an eye on our calendar and socials for more information!

Participants will battle it out in a Swiss style tournament consisting of 3 rounds. Each round is best of 3 with a 45 minute time limit. Sideboards are legal, and your deck must be Standard legal. Every round you win, you win a pack! The winner of the whole event will receive an exclusive promo card, which is currently Unlucky Cabbage Merchant! Entry is $12.50.

What is Standard Showdown?

“Standard” refers to a format in Magic the Gathering where decks consist of 60 cards. Decks can have no more than 4 copies of any given card (excluding Basic lands). Our Magic Standard Showdown event is a constructed tournament where players compete in 1 on 1 matches for packs and exclusive promotional cards. These change with every set! This is a more competitive event, so decks are required to be standard legal according to Wizard of the Coast’s legality rulings.
