Yu-Gi-Oh! Genesys Celebration Event at Gnome Games Green Bay East

Celebrate Yu-Gi-Oh! Genesys at Gnome Games Green Bay East!

Gnome Games Green Bay East formally invites you to our Genesys Celebration Event!

Saturday May 23rd
12:00pm
Entry is the purchase of three (3) Yu-Gi-Oh! Booster Packs

This will be a 100 Point Cap Genesys 3 round Swiss style tournament. One (1) Game Mat will be distributed as a prize to the 1st place winner, after the conclusion of the last round. The other Game Mat will be randomly distributed as a door prize amongst Duelists who participated. The second Game Mat cannot be awarded to a Duelist that has already won the first Game Mat.

What is Yu-Gi-Oh! Genesys?

The Genesys rules are simple:

  1. No Link Monsters or Pendulum Monsters are allowed. All other cards are allowed. The original field layout is used, with no Extra Monster Zones nor Pendulum Zones.
  2. The standard Forbidden & Limited Cards list is not used. All those cards can be used, except Link Monsters and Pendulum Monsters. Usual limit of 3 copies max of any card still applies.
  3. Deck construction uses a point system. Some cards are assigned a point value; most cards cost zero points. The total point cost of cards in your Main Deck, Extra Deck, and Side Deck (combined) cannot exceed the point cap for that event.
  4.  The standard point cap is 100, but events can be run with any point cap, or even a zero-point cap! Official Tournament Stores can set their own caps for their tournaments.

After opening the packs, you have a certain time limit to make a deck with the following rules:

  • Minimum 40-card deck

  • Any number of ink colors

The rest of the cards you didn’t use are your sideboard–cards that you can use as substitutes for cards in your main deck. You can switch them before each game!

You’ll be matched up against an opponent and go head-to-head. After the game, you’re paired off with a new opponent and keep going until you’ve played all the rounds.
