Ahhh the ol’alma mater Strixhaven is once more holding classes. Gnomes Games invites you to go on a tour of the campus and learn the Secrets of Strixhaven in a Magic the Gathering prerelease event!

Secrets of Strixhaven Prerelease 301 at Gnome Games Green Bay West has multiple potential dates and is meant for those who are interested in:

Randomly receiving One of Five Secrets of Strixhaven prerelease packs, focusing on one of the five colleges of Strixhaven: Silverquill, Prismari, Witherbloom, Lorehold, and Quandrix!
- Each Prerelease pack contains: A College-Themed Seeded Booster, Spindown Counter, a bonus Foil Rare or Mythic Rare card and 5 Secrets of Strixhaven Play Boosters.
- The College-Themed Seeded Booster is themed around one of the five Strixhaven colleges.
Building a 40 card minimum deck out of their prerelease pack and basic lands provided by Gnome Games!
Playing 3 rounds of Magic the Gathering with the deck made during a 50 minute deckbuilding period.
- Each round is decided by best 2 of 3 games during a 50 minute time frame.
Winning a Secrets of Strixhaven Play Booster with each match win!

Strixhaven University

Founded over 700 years ago by five spellcasting dragons, Strixhaven University is Arcavios’s premier institution of magical learning, drawing promising young mages from all across the Multiverse to study in its halls.

Strixhaven is divided into five colleges, each with their own campus, faculty, and academic fields of study. Each college focuses on the clash between two opposing colors of mana, exploring the questions and challenges that arise from these dichotomies.

Pokémon Mega Evolution – Perfect Order Prerelease!

On Thursday, March 19th at 5:30pm, take part in a Pokémon Prerelease for Mega Evolution – Perfect Order! Crack open a Build & Battle kit, craft a deck, and see how you do in a 3 round Swiss style tournament! All participants get 3 packs of Perfect Order at the end for playing in the 3 rounds! Players have 30 minutes to build their decks. Rounds are 30 minutes, best of one.

Each Build & Battle Kit contains 4 Mega Evolution – Perfect Order Booster Packs and a 40-card ready-to-play deck. These also contain one of four unique foil promo cards for Pokémon like Mega Zygarde ex, Mega Clefable ex, Mega Starmie ex, and Meowth ex. Discover them in the Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Perfect Order expansion!

What is a prerelease?

A prerelease is a type of event that gives players the chance to get product early. In the case of Pokémon, people can participate in events before the set comes out. Each person receives a Build & Battle kit, which consists of a random 40 card deck and 4 packs of the set. Then they battle it out in 3 rounds of a Swiss style Tournament and receive extra packs at the end for participating! Players get to keep all of the cards that they get from prereleases.

The Prerelease format allows players to compete using a 40-card deck with four Prize cards set aside at the start of play. This is different from the usual 60-card deck with six Prize cards. Due to the limited card pool and the variance of cards that can be acquired in a Build & Battle Box, Prerelease events are also a great opportunity to flex your creative deck-building muscles.

How do you play in a Star Wars Unlimited Prerelease?

At the beginning of a sealed play event, you will open six booster packs. You must use the cards within those packs to build a deck while adhering to the following rules:

Your deck must consist of exactly one leader, exactly one base, and a minimum 30-card draw deck. Your sideboard includes all of the other cards you opened from your packs.

You can use any common base for your deck, even one that did not come from one of the booster packs you opened. You can only use a rare base if it was in one of the booster packs you opened.

Your draw deck can include any number of copies of the same card.

The winner of a sealed play match is determined by best-of-three games in a 55-minute round.

How do you play in a Star Wars Unlimited Prerelease?

That’s right, it’s time for the Godzilla: Reign of Kaiju Release Event at Gnome Games Green Bay West! Universus players, you can get a chance to play with the cards as they come out on Friday, March 13th at 5:30pm!

The King of the Monsters makes his return with a full booster set that’s larger than life. Packed with kaiju, devastating abilities, and artwork that leaps off the card, this set is built to deliver spectacle and strategy in equal measure.

What’s a Universus Prerelease? There are some special rules to follow:

Each Player is provided with six booster packs. Players then open their booster packs and use them to construct a 40 card minimum deck plus character card. Symbol restrictions are ignored; a Player may play any card from the provided booster packs regardless of their chosen character’s symbols. Play is then considered as normal with the following exceptions: During play, if a Player runs out of cards in their deck and cycle they remove 5 cards instead of 10.

Players compete by using a 40 card deck they get from a Build and Battle Kit.

Each kit comes with one random deck and 4 booster packs of the newest set for players to add to their deck! After the event each player will also get 3 packs of the new set!
