Outreach Gnome – Part-Time

Gnome Games is looking for a Part-Time Outreach Gnome to help us bring games into our community!

Do you love board games, card games, and meeting new people? Are you looking for a flexible side job where you can get out into the community and help people discover the joy of gaming? We’re looking for someone who can represent Gnome Games at school game nights, community events, library programs, corporate events, and other outreach activities throughout the year.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, interacting with people, and sharing their enthusiasm for games.

What You'll Do

As an Outreach Gnome, you will be responsible for helping Gnome Games create fun, welcoming experiences at off-site community events.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Attending and representing Gnome Games at community outreach events throughout the year.
• Working school game nights, community festivals, library programs, corporate events, and other off-site activities.
• Transporting demo games, event supplies, and other materials to and from events.
• Loading and unloading event materials, including bins weighing 20+ lbs.
• Setting up and taking down event spaces.
• Teaching and explaining board games, card games, and other activities to participants.
• Engaging with children, families, adults, and community members in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Monitoring demo games and making sure games and components are being used appropriately.
• Carefully packing and organizing games and supplies after events to minimize the risk of damage or missing components.
• Running specific demo games or activities as requested.
• Selling Gnome Games products at select events when needed.
• Providing excellent customer service and representing the Gnome Games brand in a positive and professional manner.
• Working independently while staying in communication with the Operations Director and event organizers.

Schedule & Hours

This is a part-time, event-based position with a flexible schedule.

• Typically 1–3+ outreach events per month, depending on the season and event schedule.
• Average hours are approximately 8–15 hours per month, although this may vary.
• Events may take place during weekdays, evenings, or weekends depending on the event.
• Scheduled event time will include approximately 30 minutes of setup and 30 minutes of take-down time, in addition to applicable travel time.
• Some events may require additional preparation, transportation, or product-handling time.

Because outreach events vary throughout the year, this position is well suited for someone looking for a flexible side job or supplemental income rather than a traditional fixed weekly schedule.

• Takes pride in keeping games, products, and event materials organized and in good condition.
• Is comfortable representing a business in schools, libraries, community spaces, and other public settings.
• Has reliable transportation and is able to transport event materials when required.
• Is comfortable lifting and carrying bins weighing 20+ lbs and loading/unloading a vehicle.
• Is willing to learn new games and activities as needed.

Previous experience teaching games, working events, customer service, childcare, education, or community programming is a plus, but not required. A willingness to learn and a positive attitude are more important.

Physical Requirements

This position involves the physical setup and transportation of event materials. Employees must be able to:

• Lift and carry boxes or bins weighing 20+ lbs.
• Load and unload a vehicle.
• Set up and take down tables, games, displays, and other event materials.
• Stand and move around for the duration of events.
• Safely transport and handle games and merchandise.

Who You'll Work With

The Outreach Gnome will report to the Operations Director and will work with Gnome Games staff, community partners, schools, libraries, businesses, and event organizers.
