Position Details
Location: Gnome Games Green Bay West
Hours: Full-Time (32-40hrs)
Pay: $14-$15 per hour, depending on experience and interview performance
Availability: Ideal candidates are available Thursday through Sunday evenings and closing shifts, though we are flexible based on the right candidate.
What You'll Do
As a Retail Gnome, you'll take on a dynamic role that blends retail sales, customer service, event support, and community engagement.
Retail & Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly, welcoming manner
- Recommend board games, trading card games, roleplaying games, and hobby products based on customer interests
- Learn product knowledge to help customers make informed purchasing decisions
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and maintain a clean and inviting store environment
- Assist with receiving and organizing incoming inventory
Community & Event Support
- Help host and facilitate in-store events, tournaments, leagues, and community gatherings
- Welcome new players and help create an inclusive environment for all experience levels
- Answer questions about events, products, and store programs
- Assist with event setup, organization, and cleanup
- Help maintain a fun, engaging atmosphere during busy events and peak store hours
Who You Are
We're looking for someone who:
- Has retail or customer service experience (preferred)
- Has knowledge of or an interest in board games, collectible card games (CCGs), tabletop gaming, or related hobbies (preferred)
- Has experience hosting events, leading groups, teaching games, or working with communities (preferred)
- Brings high energy and enthusiasm to every shift
- Is reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Communicates clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers
- Enjoys working as part of a team while also taking initiative independently
- Can confidently interact with and manage large groups of people during events
- Remains calm, organized, and customer-focused during busy periods
- Is eager to learn and grow within the hobby gaming industry
