Dust off your sleuthing skills and sharpen your spellcasting focus, for Gnome Games invites you to an event unlike any other: Murder at the Gnome Games: a Magic: the Gathering Prerelease like no other, shrouded in the chilling mystery of Murder at Karlov Manor Prereleases that only you can solve!

Prepare to step into the vibrant world of mystery at your favorite Gnome Games store, as it is transformed into a scene of intrigue and suspense. A beloved figure has fallen, and sinister whispers hang heavy in the air. Could it be the charismatic, competitive Barnaby “Mana Burn” Bolt, forever vying for supremacy? Or perhaps the gentle Lyra “Land Whisperer” Willowbrook, championing environmental awareness? Every Planeswalker amongst us becomes a suspect, and every card cast holds a clue.

Hark, Planeswalkers! There has been a murder at Gnome Games and we need your help to solve the mystery!

For one event at each store only, Gnome Games transforms into a stage for murder and mayhem. You are no longer just patrons seeking prereleases and preordained packs. You are investigators, thrust into a tangled web of deceit and suspicion.

Unravel the clues as you play in the Magic the Gathering Murders at Karlov Manor Prerelease.

Decipher cryptic messages, untangle alibis, and navigate hidden passages. Use your strategic minds and collaborative spirit to interrogate suspects, analyze evidence, and piece together the puzzle before the final match is played. Learn to Play Bunny Kingdom with Gnome Games!  Wednesday, November 5th at 7pm, one of the Gnomes will be helping players learn to play Bunny Kingdom, where players take turns picking cards and placing their bunnies to try to have the most points at the end of the game!

This is a Free event! Seating is limited, but we’re looking to help introduce more players to great games every Wednesday during our Board Game night!

Learn to Play Bunny Kingdom with Gnome Games!  Wednesday, October 29th at 6pm, one of the Gnomes will be helping players learn to play Bunny Kingdom, where players take turns picking cards and placing their bunnies to try to have the most points at the end of the game!

October Pokémon League Challenge at Gnome Games Appleton East – $5 / $10

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our October League Challenge!

Every month, we at Appleton East host a Pokémon League Challenge that gives our players a more competitive level event. Starting at 12 PM sharp, we run a three round Swiss style tournament where participants win a Prize Pack per round win. In addition to our regular League Challenge rewards, we will be handing out any remaining Pokéween promos! Entry is dependent upon age division.

Juniors/Seniors: $5
Masters: $10

What are Pokémon League Challenges?

A League Challenge is a small entry-level event held monthly by eligible Play! Pokémon Stores. In Pokémon League Challenge tournaments, competitors can earn Championship Points (CP) and work toward earning an invitation to the World Championships! These events are designed to be a competitor’s first experience of formal tournament competition before moving up to League Cups, Regional Championships, and beyond.

What is required to participate?

A Pokémon Trainer Club ID is required to register for the event, and a deck list is required to participate. We provide sheets for people to fill out if needed. Please show up a bit early to allow time to fill them out. Cards are required to be part of the Pokémon Standard Format.

Pokéween 2025 at Gnome Games Appleton East – Free!

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our Pokéween event!

Saturday, October 18th will be our regular Pokémon Club, with a spooky Halloween twist! It’s Pokéween time! Anyone that attends will get a Trick or Trade BOOster pack and a special stamped promo card featuring Spiritomb. Show up in a costume, and we’ll give you an extra pack! Play! Pokemon rewards all attendees with a Pokémon GO code that is sent directly to their Pokémon Trainer Club email address a few weeks after the event. Each code is redeemable for a Rare Candy and either a Lucky Egg or an Incense at random.

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself! This is still our normal Pokémon Club, so casual battles, fair trades, and coloring sheets are all available! Costumes are encouraged, and earn you additional rewards. Special Halloween themed coloring pages and coloring utensils are provided to everyone!

Attendees sign in through their Pokémon Trainer Club IDs. Please make sure your email is up to date to ensure you receive your Pokémon GO rewards!

One Piece Set Sail Event at Gnome Games Appleton East

Join us at Gnome Games Appleton East for our One Piece Set Sail Event!

Saturday, October 11th at 2 pm is our one and only Set Sail Event! This event is for people who are looking to get into the game and learn how to play. Bring a friend in and purchase a Learn Together Deck Set to participate and earn exclusive promotional items! We will also be raffling off foil versions of the sticker sheets during the event! Each pair that attends gets either a OP10-111 Monkey.D.Luffy​ card or a OP10-113 Roronoa Zoro decided between the two of you.

This event is a free battle event, where people can come in with friends and/or family to learn the game in a casual and stress-free environment. No timer, no crazy powerful decks, just your new starter decks and the company of those you enjoy being around! While the decks will teach you everything you need to know about the game, we will also have staff available for any questions.

What is included in the Learn Together Deck Set?

The Learn Together Deck Set comes with three fully preconstructed decks based on Luffy, Zoro, and Nami, their own cases for storage, and a guide on how to play each one. It also contains a two player playmat with guides on how to play!
