GBE: Summer Kill Team Arena!

Summer Kill Team Arena Schedule

Bring your Kill Team (or learn to play with the store armies) and have some fun in this smaller skirmish sized games of 40k! We will be using the most recent kill team rules found in the Arena book!

10am start (be sure to have your rosters done before hand!)

Welcome to the Summer Kill Team League. Each week players will play practice games using the newest rule set for Kill Team: Arena! The final week – June 1st – Will be our Summer Kill Team Tournament! Prizes include 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals as well as store credit based on attendance!

What is Kill Team Arena?

Kill Team: Arena is an expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team that introduces rules for competitive play, using evenly balanced terrain set-ups and mission objectives to offer each player an even playing field. Also included are missions and rules for running competitive Kill Team tournaments, either for single players or teams of two allies (known as Battle Brothers).

The rules of the game are fairly simple and you will be lining up your train cars and completing routs in no time!

What is Ticket to Ride?

Ticket to Ride is a cross-country train adventure where players collect cards of various types of train cars that enable them to claim railway routes connecting cities in various countries around the world.

The longer the routes, the more points they earn!

Additional points come to those who can fulfill their Destination Tickets by connecting two distant cities, and to the player who builds the longest continuous railway!

November 17th – Code Names!

The two rival spymasters know the secret identities of 25 agents. Their teammates know the agents only by their CODENAMES.

The teams compete to see who can make contact with all of their agents first. Spymasters give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. Their teammates try to guess words of the right color while avoiding those that belong to the opposing team. And everyone wants to avoid the assassin.

Codenames: win or lose, it’s fun to figure out the clues.

Join us the last Saturday of the month for our merger of Tabletop and Digital Gaming! For November we will be Hosting a Fireside Gathering for Hearthstone and teaching the Smash Up physical game!

Smash Up Learn to Play:

Smash Up, designed by Paul Peterson, is the Shufflebuilding game from Alderac Entertainment Group.  In Smash Up players draft two faction decks, such as pirates, ninja, robots, zombies, and more, and combine them into a force to be reckoned with!

It may sound simple, but how simple is it when the Zombie-Ninja deck Assassinates your minions then creates an Outbreak, loading the Base with minions from their discard pile?

Or when the Pirate-Dinosaurs Full Sail onto the base with the mighty King Rex, whose massive power dwarfs that of other minions?

Each combination gives a different experience, Pirate-Aliens play very different than Pirate-Zombies, and with 8 factions in the base set there are 64 combinations to try out and every expansion set increases the options exponentially!

Hearthstone: Fireside Gathering

For our Hearthstone Tavern Founding Event we will be keeping it casual! Bring your mobile device or laptop (we have wi-fi and power outlets) and battle other Hearthstone players from around the area!

GBE – Kill Team Campaign!

Gnome Games Kill Team Campaign

When: October 13th – December 15th
Where: Gnome Games Green Bay East
Cost: $5/player (covers the entire league)

What is the Kill Team Campaign

Each player will chose an army and begin the campaign with a total of 32 resources split into 4 categories. Using the rules outlined on page 63 of the Kill Team Core manual players will fight out 100 point matches using a “Battle-forged” Kill Team. The player that loses the mission will also lose some of their precious resources as determined by the scenario.

If any of your resource categories fall to 0 support from your faction is pulled! If this happens don’t fret you still may play league games but as part of the guerrilla faction! There are even special prizes for the guerrilla player that plays the most games!

When can I play?

Players are encouraged to play on Saturdays, however league games may be played any time during the week. Players should report their games and update their resource cards as their games finish. A league week runs from Saturday morning to the following Friday night.

Spoils of war! Fabulous Prizes!

Participation prizes are given out weekly, the first time a player checks in that week. These include “Tactics” cards that give players cool in-game benifits! In addition if you play at least one game each week in a 3 week period you get the following:

  • Oct. 13th – Nov. 2nd: Play in all 3 weeks to earn a pair of Kill Team Counter Spinners!
  • Nov. 3rd – Nov. 23rd: Play in all 3 weeks to earn a set of Unique Kill Team Dice!
  • Nov. 24th – Dec. 15th: Play in all 3 weeks to earn set of Unique Kill Team Objective Markers!

Also, at the end of each 3 week period, the player from each faction with the most remaining resources will receive a “Best in Faction” button to show off their tactical skills! If a player has lost their faction and are fighting for the guerrillas, they will be awarded the Best Guerrilla button if they have played the most games (only applicable in league section 2 and 3).

The Best Overall Kill Team (the single team with the most resource points) will be awarded a Prize Medal as follows:

  • Nov. 3rd – Nov. 23rd: Silver Medal
  • Nov. 24th – Dec. 15th: Gold Medal
  • Oct. 13th – Nov. 2nd: Bronze Medal

October 13th will be the league kickoff so come in and unleash some carnage!

We all know that October is filled with ghosts, ghouls, goblins and other monsters. Now you have a chance to slay them!

Image result for star trek science vesselYour ship has been ordered to search for the S.S. Tesla, a science ship that went missing 6 weeks ago. However, the ship and her crew went missing in a region of space that has numerous spatial and temporal anomalies that could play havoc on a ship’s systems and crew. Eighteen hours ago, sensors picked up a plasma trail, and you have set course to follow it.

September 13th – Doomed to Repeat the Past
6pm – 8pm

Starfleet has received a message from the Klingon Empire requesting aid for a dangerous plague that was thought to be long dead. Your ship has been sent to deliver not only medical supplies to the Empire, but also Starfleet’s knowledge on the virus, it’s long and troubled past, and a potential cure.

September 20th – Fading Suns
6pm – 8pm

You have been ordered to deliver scientific equipment to Epsilon 19, a scientific research station in the Osarin system. The star in the Osarin system is collapsing at a very unusual rate and is also emitting triolic waves for unknown reasons. Once your ship has dropped you and the equipment at the station, it sets a course to the star to gather some close-range data. While on the station, you are invited to dinner along with the station commander, and an unusual guest.

September 27th – Convoy SE-119
6pm – 8pm

You and your crew must escort a convoy of merchant vessels carrying supplies to a remote research outpost deep within the Shackleton Expanse. Accompanying you as escort is the Klingon bird-of-prey I.K.S. Mupwl’ (Hammer), which is under the command of a unique Klingon warrior.

The goblins of Khurovogo are being destroyed in devastating bursts of flame. The bravest of the surviving goblins seek out heroes willing to confront their angered deity and negotiate for the survival of the village… or kill the god.

A Two-Hour Adventure for 1st-4th Level Characters

September 15th – Glip Dak (2-4pm & 4:30-6:30pm)

The Kroth Magg hobgoblins run the trade city of Glip Dak in the Troll Hills of Thar. From there they have taken control of the trade routes along the northern Moonsea. A young noble has been captured for refusing to pay their tariffs and his house looks to hire adventurers to rescue him.

A 2-hour adventure for 1st – 4th level characters

September 22nd – Beneath Glip Dak. (2-4pm & 4:30-6:30pm)

A series of unusual heists has both the thieves’ guild and city guard scrambling to uncover the culprits before the burglaries destabilize the thriving trade within the city, threatening the budding kingdom the Kroth Magg have fought and died to forge.

A 2-hour adventure for 1st – 4th level characters

December Pokemon League Challenge – GBE

Join us for the December Pokemon League Challenge at Gnome Games Green Bay East

Pokemon Trainers it’s time for the December League Challenge at Gnome Games Green Bay East.

Get started in the world of competitive Pokémon TCG play at League Challenge tournaments. League Challenges are smaller entry-level events on a local scale. In Pokémon TCG League Challenge tournaments, players can earn Championship Points and work toward earning an invitation to the Pokemon World Championships!

League Challenge events are open to all players. Entry fee for all players is $5.

Players need to bring their own legal 60-card deck.  This event is Standard Format, and decklists are required for all players. You can learn more about Standard Format Here

Decklists must be turned in when you register for the event.

League Challenge events consist of only Swiss rounds; there is no top cut to single-elimination rounds.

Players must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account with a Player ID attached, and must have opted in to the Play! Pokémon program in order to earn points and prizes. All participants will receive 1 Play! Point just for playing, and the top four players in each age division will win a special promo card.  You can get a Free POP ID at any Gnome Games Pokemon League or at the League Challenge.
