It’s time to get ready for summer! Here at Gnome Games we believe that everyone should be able to have fun this summer so we put together our BIGGEST two-day learn to play extravaganza yet! There is something fun for everyone to try and staff will be available to assist with teaching all new players!

Learn to Play KillTeam with General Will

Ages 13+ 
Saturday, May 4th
10am – Noon

Enter the Warhammer 40k Universe – a bleak future filled with only one certainty: War! In KillTeam, each player has a small tactical force that they use to try and complete missions in campaign style play. KillTeam is a perfect way to get some experience and learn about the different factions of Warhammer 40k!

For this event, General Will will be available to teach and give tactical advice to the new recruits!  We will also take sign ups for the Summer Leagues

Miniature Paint and Take

Ages 8+ with adult or 10+
Saturday, May 4th
11am – 2pm

Have you ever wanted to paint a miniature for D&D or Warhammer 40k but don’t know where to start? This is the event for you! Each painter can come and go as they please during this open, free form painting event. Each painter will get a Space Marine miniature to test their brush skills on – and you get to take it home with you! Experienced painters are also welcome to come in and show off some of their techniques, and offer advice to beginning painters!

Learn to Play Yu-Gi-Oh!: Speed Duels

It’s time to DUEL! Yu-Gi-Oh! Speed Duels are the perfect way to learn the exciting collectible card game Yu-Gi-Oh! Each player will get a 20 card Speed Duel Deck and Staff will be available to teach the ins and outs of Dueling!  Make sure you grab a summer Duel Schedule!

Learn to Play Dungeons and Dragons with Dungeon Master Dale!

Ages 8+ with adult or 10+
Saturday, May 4th
2pm – 4pm Session 1
4:30pm – 6:30pm Session 2


Calling all adventurers: A world of magic, monsters and treasure await! No experience is required to go on this quest but you best bring your imagination! Dungeon Master Dale specializes in teaching D&D and your first adventure is sure to be a blast! Seating is limited so please check in when you arrive to ensure your seat!

We’ll have weekly adventure opportunities all summer long!


Learn to Play Pokémon TCG with Professor Nate

Ages 8+ or 6+ if they have strong reading skills! (adults also welcome!)

Have you or your child ever wanted to start your very own Pokemon adventure? This is a perfect chance to hop in and learn from a real Pokemon Professor! Each new player will get to choose from a pre-built Pokemon theme deck, which they get to keep. Professor Nate will then teach everyone the basics of the Pokémon Trading Card Game! Each player will then be able to play their very first game of Pokémon! – With professor Nate near by to answer any questions and provide help as needed!

Magic: Open House

This entry level event is great for anyone interested in learning Magic: the Gathering! Each player will get a free learn to play deck as well as a special Open House promotional card! We will have experienced players and staff ready to help you through your first game.

Welcome to KeyForge – A truly Unique card game from the creator of Magic the Gathering: Richard Garfield! In KeyForge every deck is One-of-a-kind, no one else will have the same deck as you! Players must learn the ins and outs of their deck in order to gather enough aember to forge 3 keys before their opponent! Each player in this event will get their very own, unique KeyForge deck! Staff will be available to help players learn this amazing game!

Friday March 1st through Monday March 4th, Gnome Games Green Bay East (GBE) will  be hosting our BIGGEST learn to play weekend ever! Welcome to Magic: the Gathering. Stop in during this beginner friendly event and learn the basics of this strategic, social and most of all FUN card game!
No Experience? No cards? No problem!
Every new player will be given their very own Welcome Deck for Free! After a brief rules explanation from one of our staff, players will have a chance to play against each other in a friendly non-competitive learning environment!

Have you ever wanted to explore an ancient cave, battle a horde of goblins, solve a magical murder mystery or stockpile mounds of glittering treasure? If so you won’t want to miss this learn to play event!

Dungeons & Dragons is a cooperative storytelling game where each player role-plays an adventurer with unique (and sometimes magical) abilities. As a group, you will work together using each of your strengths to overcome a wide range of obstacles.

During the learn to play event, you will be provided a character and our on staff Dungeon Master will walk you through the basics of play in a one hour beginner adventure!

Learn to Play – Pokemon TCG

Unless you live under a rock, you surely have heard of Pokemon! This learn to play event is the perfect chance to see what the cultural phenomenon is all about!

In the Pokemon Trading Card Game, players collect cards, build decks and battle against other trainers. During this event players will be taught everything they need to know to play, by an official Pokemon Professor! After this brief explanation, you will then get to use a specific learn to play deck to play against other new players. Professor Nate will always be around help players and answer any questions that parents or players have! Best of all, after you play your first full game, you will get to pick an exclusive Pokemon League Promo card!

Learn to Play – Yu-Gi-Oh!

It’s Time To DUEL!
Yu-Gi-Oh is a hugely popular anime based card game, and with the recent release of the new Speed Duel starter decks, learning to play has never been easier!

In the game of Yu-Gi-Oh, players try and reduce each others life points to zero by summoning powerful monsters, unleashing devastating spells and outwitting their opponents with traps. Speed Duels has taken everything from the main game and condensed it so it is easier to learn and faster to play!

During this learn to play event, each player will get a starter set of 3 Speed duel decks and a special yugioh pen and notepad to track life points. After a brief rules explanation players will have a chance to use their new decks to duel other players! In addition, 4 lucky players will be given limited edition Yu-Gi-Oh Speed Duel Play mats as well!

The day is still young, but there are now many more Vaults awaiting your discovery. Within them? Many secrets… and a myriad of valuable Æmbershards, which you may exchange for prizes at Vault Tours and any other keyforge events that feature a Prize Wall.

And now—in the Time of Triumph —you can enrich your Master Vault account with even more of these elusive Æmbershards by participating in the ChainBound events held at all Gnome Games locations!

In order to play in chainbound events players are REQUIRED to have a Master Vault QR code (can be printed or on phone). If you need help finding or setting up your account stop in early for your event!

What are these fabulous Prizes?

Prizes include the following:

  • 1 Æmbershard will be added to your Master Vault for entering a Chainbound Event
  • 1 Æmbershard will be added to your Master Vault for each game you win
  • 1 Archon Deck will be added to the prize pool for every 2 players entered. Half of the prize decks will be given to top finishing players, the other half will be given out randomly – determined by the TO.
  • Participation – House specific Promo Cards for Æmber, Power and Stun (depending on season, while supplies last!)

How do I improve my Power?

Power level and Handicap Chains are an awesome way to prove your skill as well as balance the local meta! Chains will be assigned or reduced at the end of each event using the following charts. Your decks power rating (based on accumulated chains is listed in column 3). Will you get your favorite Archon to power level 4!?

  • 1 or 0 wins = subtract 1 Chain
  • 2 wins = add 2 Chains
  • 3 wins = add 3 Chains

Forge Friday League
January 4th, 11th and 25th
5pm to 10pm – Cost: FREE!
Format: Open Play

Join other local players and spar with one another to prepare yourself for battle! NEW PLAYERS ALWAYS WELCOME! Be sure to stop in and play each week to collect your Discovery Season Token Card!*

Forge Friday Special Event: January Tournament!

January 18th
5:30pm Tournament Start – Cost: $5/player!
Format: 2 Archon Survival (Bring 2 decks)

It’s time to test your skills! Bring your favorite two archon decks and battle in best of 1 matches! When an Archon is defeated it is eliminated from the tournament. If a player loses both archons they are eliminated, so play smart and FORGE THOSE KEYS! See below for prizes*

KeyForge Sunday Tournament: Sealed
January 6th
1PM Tournament Start – Cost $15/player
Format: 1 Deck Sealed

Forge a great beginning to the new year! Each player gets a brand new sealed Archon deck and games will be played as best of 1 matches. Will you adapt to your new Archon or will you be locked outside the prize vault? See below for prizes*

KeyForge Sunday Tournament: Triad
January 13th
1PM Tournament Start – Cost $5/player
Format: Triad (Bring 3 decks)

Each player will bring 3 decks that they can use throughout the tournament. At the start of each round, your opponent will “bench” one of them making that deck unusable for that match. Each round consists of a best-of-three match. When a player wins a game, they must switch to their other deck for the rest of the match. This means that a player must win a game with each of their non-benched decks to win the match. See below for prizes*

KeyForge Sunday Tournament: Adaptive
January 20th
1PM Tournament Start – Cost $5/player
Format: Adaptave (Bring 1 deck)

Each round of this tournament consists of best-of-three matches. Players use their own deck for game one. Players use their opponent’s deck game two. If the third game occurs, players bid chains to use the deck which won both of the previous games. The player who brought the deck starts by bidding 0 chains, and then the players take turns outbidding each other until a player declines to bid higher. The player who bid the highest uses that deck for the third game (with their bid number of chains applied at the start). See below for prizes*

KeyForge Sunday Tournament: Reversal
January 27th
1PM Tournament Start – Cost $5/player
Format: Reversal (Bring your single worst deck)

Each player brings a deck to the tournament which they believe is challenging to win with. Each round of this best of 1 tournament, opponents temporarily swap decks, and try to win the round with the deck their opponent brought. Players will keep the deck they originally bring.


During the Month of January we will be using the contents of the KeyForge Discovery Prize Kit!

Friday League Check-in

  • Players will receive 1 Power Token Card each week they play *While Supplies Last!
  • Players will each get to add 1 Vote to the house of their choice for the 2019 Active House Challenge

Sunday Tournament Prizing

  • The Winning player at the end of each event will receive a set of Metal Damage Tokens!
  • The Winning player will get a sealed Archon Deck!
  • The top 4 players will each get a set of 3 Stun Token Cards.
  • Each player will get a House specific Chain Tracking card of their choice (while supplies last)
  • For every 2 players entered in the event, 1 Archon deck will be randomly given out.

Friday Special Tournament Prizing (January 18th)

  • The Winning player at the end of this event will get choice of a Wild Wormhole Playmat or a set of Metal Keys!
  • The 2nd place player will get item not chosen by the winning player!
  • The Winning player will get a sealed Archon Deck!
  • Each player will get a power token card (while supplies last)
  • For every 2 players entered in the event, 1 Archon deck will be added to the prize pool.

December 1st: Stocking Stuffer of the Year!

The Gnomes will reveal our selected stocking stuffer of the year! Be the first to try out this years selected game and re-play stocking stuffer games from past years such as: Suspend, Spot it, Flux and more!
DON’T FORGET: The Gnomes will gift-wrap any game purchases!

December 8th: Ticket To Ride – North Pole Express SPECIAL EVENT!

Ages: 8+
Time: 45mins

ALL ABOARD! You and your family are invited to climb aboard the North Pole Express! Come in your warm pajamas, enjoy hot cocoa, warm cookies and learn to play Ticket To Ride!

Ticket to Ride is a cross-country train adventure where players collect cards of various types of train cars that enable them to claim railway routes connecting cities in various countries around the world.


December 15th: 8-Bit Box

Inspired by retrogaming, 8Bit Box contains everything to recreate the sensations we all had playing classic games from the 80s. With the controllers in your hands, live a new gaming experience to share with your friends.


December 22nd: Gizmos

1pm – 3pm
Ages 12+
Time: 45mins

The smartest minds of our generation are gathering together at the Great Science Fair. Everyone’s been working hard on their creations, but only one will be crowned champion. Contestants will have to think on the fly, building their machines quickly and efficiently. Whose project will be the best?

In Gizmos, players take on the role of inventors, trying to create the most magnificent of machines. Using the four types of energy marbles, plucked from the innovative 3D marble dispenser, they will purchase and construct new additions to their works. As they build, new attachments can trigger chain reactions, letting them do even more on their turn. The player that builds the greatest machine and collects the most victory points is declared the winner.

December 29th: Thanos Rising – Avengers Infinity War


1pm – 3pm
Ages 10+
Time: 60mins

Thanos Rising – Avengers: Infinity War is a cooperative dice and card game for 2-4 players. In the game, players will recruit heroes and assemble a team to face off against Thanos and his villainous forces in an effort to thwart him from accomplishing his master plan – collecting all six Infinity Stones to power the Infinity Gauntlet and wreak havoc on the very fabric of reality.
