In the case of Pokémon, people can participate in events before the set comes out. Each person receives a Build \u0026amp; Battle kit, which consists of a random 40 card deck and 4 packs of the set. Then they battle it out in 3 rounds of a Swiss style Tournament and receive extra packs at the end for participating! Players get to keep all of the cards that they get from prereleases.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Prerelease format allows players to compete using a 40-card deck with four Prize cards set aside at the start of play. This is different from the usual 60-card deck with six Prize cards.
