Players take on the roles of celebrated authors tasked with writing three distinct tales across different thematic genres. The primary gameplay objective centers on resource management, strategic bidding, and set optimization: players spend valuable Lore chips to acquire theme cards, striving to construct cohesive stories while fulfilling hidden moral goals and keeping their final scoring tale as concise as possible.

The primary mechanical hurdle stems from the game's clever reverse-scoring and chip-distribution economy. When you win an auction bid using Lore chips, those spent chips are not discarded; instead, you must skillfully distribute them across the remaining cards in the Inspiration Pool for your opponents to claim later. Furthermore, at the end of the game, only the player's lowest-value completed tale is scored, rewarding concise, focused writing over bloated collections. Designed for 2 to 6 players aged 8 and up, a complete literary session plays out in 30 to 50 minutes. To craft a literary classic that endures through the ages, you must time your bids wisely, manage your chip reserves, and outsmart your fellow authors.

Game Specs at a Glance:
Age Range: 8+ Years
Publisher: Calliope Games
Play Time: 30-50 Minutes
Player Count: 2-6 Players
Complexity: Light-Medium (Economic Bidding, Set Collection, Hidden Objectives, Reverse Scoring, Strategy Card Game)

What's in the Box?

63 Theme Cards

18 Hidden Moral Cards

90 Valuable Lore Chips

6 Rest Markers

1 Rulebook
