Weekly L5R Comes back to the Gnome

Gnome Games is hosting L5R 3 nights a week, with tournaments being held on the weekends after release weekend. Most of these events will be free.

Here’s the weekly schedule of L5R Events for all of the Gnome Games stores:

What’s a L5R Launch Party

Each participant receives a lanyard, badge, and clan sticker sheet. Create your samurai name and show your clan loyalty!

Seven random participants at each store will receive a textless, extended art clan champion prize card. We will respect the honor of the L5R community and ask that players limit themselves to one of these, so all players are able to get one at our events.

To celebrate the launch of Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game, a Launch Party will take place during the weekend of the game’s release. This friendly open play environment is a great place to try out decks for each clan you favor and to choose which you will dedicate yourself. Each player should purchase a Core Set and build 30-card Dynasty and Conflict decks. Learn how to play among your fellow samurai, and get some experience with the various strategies and options available. We will have experienced players at the launch events to assist new players.

Legend of the 5 Rings Event Formats:

The Launch Party is a casual open play event, where you can find other interested Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game players and invite them to play with you! Purchase your first Core Set, and use the included Learn to Play guide to begin your journey in Rokugan. Help each other select a clan and Keeper or Seeker role, and then build a 30-card Dynasty deck, a 30-card Conflict deck, and choose five provinces.

The Imperial Summons is also an open play event, but introduces full decks built with the Keeper or Seeker roles chosen at the Winter Court World Championships. You will need at least two Core Sets to build Dynasty and Conflict decks with 40 to 45 cards each and must use the role assigned to your clan. Sharpen your skills, as the next event brings competition to the Bay of Green Coral!

The Way of the Rings is a fun competitive tournament. The event organizer will pair players for three rounds, letting you test your skills against three assigned opponents. Your record will be tracked, and top performers for each clan have a chance to win more prizes! Rewarding tournament performance is a mainstay of Organized Play, and this is your first chance to prove your abilities in a fun environment.

Watch for tournament information.  We expect to see the Imperial Summons coming in November followed by the Way of the Rings later this year.
